subterfuge mask works for increased evasion and energy shield poe 2?

I bought one helmet to be able to use this passive node but on node it says 2 evasion rating per maximum energy shield on equipped helmet

And on my helmet it doesnt has the maximum energy shield, just increased evasion and energy shield

So... does the node subterfuge mask works or the helmet Must have maximum enegy shield?

did you manage to suss this out? I have the same question as many guides use this spec and say to get ES up on the helm. But yeah the Passive only talks about the Maximum ES stat. Bit confusing

The way you worded this is very confusing. For every point of local energy shield on the the helmet you get 2 evasion rating. It's not complicated. If after local increase modifiers and quality apply your helmet reads 400 energy shield then the node gives you 800 evasion rating. Double the number of energy shield the helmet gives and that's your amount of evasion rating it gives period.
