Discord in Forums, Livestreams, and Comments

Hello everyone,

Although I'm not the type to complain about other people's comments or even express my fears about this, I have to say that the potential release of a new season is a subject of discord among us. I must admit it.

Despite my limited knowledge, I have to confess that I am neither convinced by the streamers nor by the announcement video of the new class.

Yes, in fact, I've been pointing this out for over 10 years (yes, yes):
Releasing a new league every three months is not beneficial for people who work (because they have to start over every time). Some manage to finish their character one month after the league starts, and a month later, they are properly equipped—but with only one character. Just one, not two or three as they would like. Then, a month later, without even having completed 30% of the game, they have to start over again.

Let’s take the example of a regular player who plays 1 hour every weekday and 4 hours on weekends. That adds up to 108 hours on average.

Now, let's consider a geek without a job who plays 6 hours per day and 4 hours on weekends (soft, really soft xD!). That amounts to 408 hours of gameplay. And that’s still being soft, because most streamers with no real social activities play between 8 and 12 hours a day.

Our community of rare item hunters has unfortunately been divided for years. Releasing a new season will surely make some people happy… but will also frustrate others in return.

But don't you think that, even between PoE 1 and PoE 2, the GGG community is already divided?

I’m expecting a big patch (not having to redo the campaign twice, integrating PoE1 skins just like it was done for stashes, and significantly fewer bugs), while keeping the new class aside for now.

game is fun. hope the next patch is fun aswell. If you want to keep playing your old character you can its not like GGG delete your character when a new league starts. your previous character will be in standard. i have characters from 2016 in poe1 standard.

GGG has no obligation to the ARPG genre as a whole; imo they are the definitive ARPG and other games should move their release dates around them if they want to take players away from this amazing game.

viewership will pick back up in anticipation of the patch; these content creators want to have content that will captivate their audience in the meantime while they have 0 new content until april.
