Chaos damage quarterstaff and skills for chonks / acolyte of chayula
Before i start off what i want to say, this youtuber pretty much sums up the frustrations for us Chonk users.

Okay, so my thoughts for maybe the devs could work on, or probably you guys are working on. 1. Weapons / skills that are accessible and used EARLIER in the tree for chonks. 2. Mantra of destruction, please let it be a buff just like charged staff? Like its an active chaos damage per hit buff. 3. Let us use darkness as a resource like spirit? Or maybe there are “darkness”gems like spirit gems. 4. Why cant we socket in chaotic freeze on icestrike? So we can combine strike skills? 5. The passive tree needs a bit more tweaking and chaos nodes for monks usage. 6. If chonks were intended to not use any other element other than chaos, maybe you could put more emphasis on physical damage to chaos, hence adding in more physical damage dealing skills etc or adding physical damage conversion to chaos nodes nearer to the monk’s tree. There’s still probably a ways to go for poe2. Im sure you guys have other stuffs planned and are working on things like these already. It takes time i guess. Im not asking for a solution now, but im hoping its something you guys can address maybe in your next few announcements, to give us chonks some beam of hope? I only play this class and I'm currently using a spear+bow setup for testing.
All I can say is: - I would love a Charged Staff <Chaos> addition - Remanent pickups is boring, I suggest a burst of movement speed after dodge rolling or something or a cooler type of mobility skill for this to be enjoyable. - Darkness is super boring for Quarterstaff use strictly and would there actually be players looking to seriously utilize this and give up all Spirit skill potential when Frenzy Charging into conversion of Power Charges is currently the king of burst? I think Darkness's ultimate role to play is to allow more active skills alongside an actual 2nd weapon/class attempt, which I hope I can figure out and because I'm relying on clean Frenzy charges for my non quarterstaff build I might just be able too and that's exciting imo. My complain is that the Chonk ascendancy talents have incredibly narrow options.
Darkness basically only works sensibly with Mind Over Matter builds so that you can protect your darkness bar with mana to get the benefits from the extra chaos damage while also acting as emergency barrier. Then the mana and ES leech only works on ATTACKs because only attacks can mana leech. Combine the Darkness and Leech talents and you can make only MoM Attack build. I agree with you guys. Chonk needs a rework, i think tho im expecting the weapon of choice for the chonk could probably NOT quarterstaff but could be fists? Or
Some other weapon. But im hopeful there might be a different approach to playing a chonk. But yeah it definitely needs some lovin. |

" You can say Darkness shield is narrow but consider you have spirit skills freed up, so you have even more skills to utilize if you can use them... The dark monk is a high difficulty class vs its much easier Invoker brother and I'm down for such things, especially when its lame to witness streamers and many players just abusing only 3 skills maximum, this really isn't meant to be an ARPG from 20 years ago... |
