Invincible abyss monsters

There are 2 times now that rare monsters in abyss became invincible. I don't know which rare modifier does that and I don't know what to do about it. For one I had to run away and he became non-invincible. The other time happened with another rare around and its like proximal tangibility but permanent, I don't understand what it does, what to do about it.

From my perspective the game said "Invincible enemies, you go figure out why". And the modifiers are not clear like "Temporary invincibility aura". It's weird abyss names.

I don't even know if its a bug, MULTIPLE abyss enemies being invincible, because there is no way for me to know what the modifiers CAN be and CAN do.

just had the one with the giant green rings around it with healing and freeze attacks the insta slowed me
have a 5k dps lighting spear throw with 100% crit and 380% damage with bleed and blood mage crit build and the guy was like yea i eat that for lunch.

if they aint spaming aoe all over the place they have ground effects that eat you apart in a second wile having proximal tang on them i dont know how this garbage gets into the game.
The snakes, even the white ones, are invulnerable for some time. I still don't know why, monsters don't get buff icons, so you are just left guessing

Don't use my post to rant about a tangential topic. I am not saying "Abyss overtuned and bad", I am saying there is a modifier that makes them invincible with conditions I can't know nor find on poe2db.
So I've seen this a few times. For me it has always been at the end of the Abyssal Depths where there is a checkpoint, at least 1 rare monster, and then Abyssal Troves.

The base monster type has been different ones, so I think it is some kind of modifier. I move in an start nuking and then they suddenly stop taking damage. I've gone through entire mana potions and had to go somewhere else to refill with no progress.

Eventually I noticed that these do become non-invincible as you said. Almost always it is because they moved. And I think I've found what does it. They put some kind of black cloud down and are invincible inside that cloud. So in the case where I ran to go refill my mana pot, it expired by the time I came back and I was able to insta-gib the rare before he put up another cloud. I don't know what the cloud is called, but basically you just have to lure them out of it. Also, the cloud lasts like 30s which is an eternity in an arpg so don't think about tanking it until the thing expires.

Oh, and this black cloud doesn't seem to have a cooldown. Sometimes I lure them out pretty quick and they instantly throw up another. It's really annoying.
For me the snakes are always invincible during the coiling jump attack, it's not like they get a buff or something that make them invincible, they just invincible during that attack animation for some reason. I can still hit it, the hit just deal no damage.
If you somehow freeze them mid animation (I don't know how I did it but it happened more than once) they stay invincible until they thaw AND finish their attack animation.

There are a couple of things

1. Amanamu's void. When they are in the void they will not take damage. You have to kite them out of the void in order to damage them. It will quickly reform once they stop.

2. Lightless Morays (snakes) have a bug where they occasionally become invulnerable. There's nothing you can really do here but wait for them to stop glitching out so you can start damaging them.

The issue with these mobs are that they rarely move much. If they are in a corner they will stay there with all of their aura and you gotta goto them to kill it.

The biggest issue is for melee, as range you can pew pew somewhat but as melee sometimes when they don’t move you gotta go into their aura that drains your life to hit them. And some of them have millions of HP.

Would be cool if you can kite them some how, maybe possible for range classes but for melee it’s a much bigger issue

yeah just be happy we dont have too see them 24/7 in 0.4 because ggg loves these mobs and will not be changing them

You can also step inside the whirlpool yourself to be able to deal damage.
