Dodge-Sprint Is Bad

In souls games, if you can sprint/strafe something, you just hold down dodge and it sprints without the initial roll.

In this game, if you want to sprint/strafe, you have to roll first.

When dodging first is necessary to sprint, it feels like it just mixes these two things together awkwardly. It makes your muscle memory in fights messy once you start doing it.

I just start trying to dodge/sprint everything, it messes up my timings, and makes fights feel bad.


The other thing is, dodging often causes accidental sprints, so it is too tightly timed to the press down.

Giving players knock-down immunity for a period, presents the problem of racers and that dodge/sprinting even in packs for optimization. The sprint needs to work so it can never be done by mistake.


I would like it if GGG added an option for holding down an alt key to start sprinting near the end of a roll instead of just holding dodge down for x amount of time.

This would stop these two things from being mixed together in my brain and add an accessibility option for those who do not like hold down.


Dodge-sprint as it is, should check if you are still holding it down near the end of the dodge animation before confirming the sprint.
