A place to understand end game crafting?
|
Is there a good YouTuber, or website, or whatever where I can learn how the end game crafting "flow" works to give you the best chances of success? I'm aware of "craftofexile.com" but that's just simulator stuff it doesn't really explain anything.
I feel like I've got some understanding but I'm probably making things in the least efficient way and have probably wasted currency / resources over time. ขุดครั้งสุดท้าย เมื่อ 23 ต.ค. 2025 16:46:39

Don't know of any good sites explaining the crafting in detail.
I have been using POE2DB.tw as a reference of what modifiers an item can get. I then watch YouTube videos of crafts and try and understand how they are using various omens and essences to limit the available modifiers the item can roll. |

I just crafted myself a new helm for my warrior I will try to explain my steps in case it help your understanding. This isn't the only way to craft the item but gave me a great upgrade with limited random factors.
I did a market search for a lvl 80 helm with T1 flat armour and found a cheap one with 25% rarity as a suffix. Rarity doesn't have a tag so the only tag on this base is defense. I used a greater essence of enhancement to add T3 % armour keeping the item to just defense tags. At this stage if the suffix had tags or was something I didn't like I would have removed it with a dextral crystallization and essense of the abyss. Next I used a dextral exaltation with a homogenising exaltation and perfect exalt to add a suffix with a defense tag the only option being T1 Armour also applies to Elemental Damage. The item gains elemental tag. I use dextral exaltation with a homogenising exaltation again with a greater exalt this time. There are no more suffixes left with defense tags so it forces a resist, I ended up with T3 fire. Perfect exalt didn't seem worth using since it doesn't guarantee better than T3 resistance anyway. A final homogenising exaltation plus exalt fills the last prefix, the only relevant tag to it is defense and I got lucky hitting the preferred T1 armour and life. |

The best answer to this, is to stop playing until they remove all the nonsensical and overly convoluted processes involved in the crafting system of this game. Crafting stuff is supposed to be fun. Not week long research project you prepare for and have to watch youtube videos to understand then only get it messed up by a brick orb (vaal orb) anyways.

I feel like outside of how to use craft of exile, there isn't anything to learn about crafting. You basically look for the cheapest way to build your item.

no...
at all, there is no crafting in poe2, u cannot prepare a good base to work on the item, theres is no crafting bench to add the modifires u need. they creat a gambel system, forcing plyers to waste tons of currency for nothing. just save urcurrency and buy itens u need on market. this is the best advise. |

" Your explanation is a bit wrong, as you wasted your perfect exalt... You should've used a normal/greater exalt to get the modifier with elemental tag (regardless of tier) and only then think about slamming a perfect exalt with homogenizing to get t1/t2 resists based on that tag. But even so, in this situation you should think twice before wasting a perfect exalt, as using a greater exalt is way cheaper even if you don't get good tiers. Going for a fresh craft and getting an extra chance at those modifiers with another greater exalt is way cheaper than using a perfect exalted. แก้ไขล่าสุดโดย Unusual_Research#7606 เมื่อ 23 ต.ค. 2025 01:22:56

" The perfect orb was to ensure T1 armour applies to elemental resist, I wasn't just using it for the elemental tag it allowed my build to cap the stat at 90% while and reclaim 5 skill points from my tree that I was using to cap it before. I probably wouldn't have used one if I didn't already have it. Using the perfect exalt on the resists seems a bad idea since T4 resist is ilvl 50 which is the minimum for the perfect. For my personal build Armour also applies to chaos damage would be a much better last suffix than a resist but I'm not rich enough to throw omens of light and desecrations at it until I get the roll. In the end most of the crafting comes down to what you can afford to do rather than what you would like to do. |
