PARRY in 0.4 - Please make parry feel more like parry and less like blocking

I am leveling a fresh ssf character with explosive spear and the most reliable way to generate frenzy charges early is Parry.
Honestly the mechanic of parrying to applying the debuff, disengaging and using a frenzied empowered explosive spear feels quite nice and deals quite a bit of dmg to bosses....BUT the main issue I find with parry is how parrying itself currently works. The feeling of having to raise my buckler and wait for an enemy to hit me just feels so bad especially in earlier zones where normal monsters are slower. Thematically it feels more like BLOCKING rather than actually PARRYING. I just wish we had an indicator for attacks we can parry and using parry at the right timing of the indicator would result in a successful parry. That seems like a more realistic reactive approach given the current state of the game. No player will learn all monster animation just to be able to parry and once in end game with all the clutter the problem with the current state of parry gets even worse. Also the whole parrying facing the direction of the monsters is quite boring.
