Why Hulking Form doesn't affect on attribute passive node (+5)

I just noticed this too. Hulking form gives a 50% bonus to small nodes. The +4 abilities nodes in the star at the outer ring gives only +5. 50% of 4 is clearly 2. 2+4 is six. What am I missing? I'm missing a point in str, int, and dex for each small node in the passive tree star is what I am missing I guess.
