Bug? Character bricked and over? Need to start a new character?

Hi - Thank you in advance for considering my question - all answers are appreciated.

I'm new to POE2. I just finished the Trial of Sekhamas. I picked my ascendency class, but could not figure out how to allocate ascendency points. I had real life stuff to get to, so I logged.

When I had the opportunity, I read an article or two and learned I should have "clicked a statue" to get ascendency points. (I'm not sure where the statue was - final treasure room would be my guess.)

I returned to the area but could not get to the final room.

I killed Balbala again, but no coin dropped.

I do have another coin from some other boss, if I remember correctly.

So, will using this other coin get me to the treasure room and "the statue" so I can get my ascendancy points, or should I simply delete this character and start over?

As long as you have a coin that highlights the get ascendary points text you can just do it again until you succeed. You need a higher level coin for the next step, and so on. No need to delete anything.

I didn't do a good job explaining the issue.

I was able to assign my ascendency type / role.

I could not find anywhere where it showed I had ascendency points.

If, indeed, I had ascendency points, I could not find a place to use them in the ascendency skill tree. Click the ascendency skill node - nothing.

I took a chance and used a coin to do the Trial for a second time. Again, I could see my ascendency role was in place, but nothing to indicate I had ascendency points to assign, and when I clicked on ascendency nodes in the tree - nothing.

Where does this happen?
