Not receiving ascendancy points PoE2 Dawn of the hunt xbox

I ran an act 3 trials of chaos and received 2 ascendancy points. (Thought I would get 4 since I skipped sekhemas). Then I ran the quest balbalas barya which states that it will grant additional ascendancy points. I did it 2 times with no luck then I did a non quest version of a balbalas barya and same problem. Once I get to the end I cannot click on the ascendancy shrine nor the portal.
