Experience Penalty Feels Terrible

I enjoy a lot about this game, but the experience penalty 90+ feels terrible. This is a seasonable game and even if there was no penalty it takes many many hours to grind to 100. The penalty just feels bad.

Sometimes I log in and play 3 hours and log out with less experience in the level then when I started.

At most, just take away the experience we earned in a map if we fail it. That seems much more equitable then taking my experience for the last 1 hour + of playing without dying, which takes a good amount of focus in full juiced maps, unless on a broken build.

At most maybe reduce the penalty to experience you earned over the last 15 minutes or so per death.

I don't mind losing my map and loot, but losing hours of grinding experience is not good.

Remove exp loss. Period. It adds nothing, and pisses people off. Delete.

At level 90+ what value are you getting from levels? One skill point doesn't make that much of a difference the higher you go. This isn't D4 where level 100 is the start, here it's the end. It's a grind on purpose, not something everyone should achieve (or even strive to achieve).

Losing the xp you gained in a map is far more punishing, it punishes you at lower levels significantly. You can gain multiple levels in one map when lower level, losing all of that would hurt. Same for what you gained over the last X minutes, that could be far more than 1 maps worth of XP and a lot more than 10% for lower levels.

The only problem with XP loss is players thinking gaining levels is progression they need to accomplish. It's not. A lower levels dying a lot means you're doing content too hard for you. At higher levels pushing further is a stretch goal and not needed for any content.
