Expedition chests blocking movement

It has become incredibly frustrating trying to move around tiny chock points when doing expeditions. The fact that the chests and the modifier tomes are path blockers is silly. As a melee build, I have died so many times trying to get to a pack but can't get to them because a chest or tome happened to be in the tiny chock in a path... Can these things just be non character impeding objects... I honestly just despise expedition as a melee, so this a mode I will be skipping.
As ranged it is easier to handle... but still annoying.
