Currency market offers keep cancelling after partial completion

I've been selling distilled emotions in bulk and frequently when i have a large sell offer it will bulk sell a few hundred exalt with and then just cancel the rest of the offer, making me refund them and start another sale.

Kinda painful when selling 3000~ and having the offer reset after 800 or so sell

Are they listed for a whole (integer) offer price? This may not be your situation, but it is one common case where orders will be cancelled after partial sales.

It may well still happen anyway, but if your offer price is a decimal value you will often break the listing after a few sales because the person buying your currency is completing the transaction at a lower cost to you than you offered.

E.g., you offer 5.17ex but they end up requesting only 5ex.

When this happens, the amount left on offer may no longer be evenly divisible by your original offer price when fulfilling future transactions. Because it can't complete all remaining sales at your original price without 'overcharging' you that fractional remainder (currency can't be split), it cancels your offer before everything is sold.

It ensures that each individual transaction meets your offer and not that you end up with what you expected to pay at the end.

The exchange has a number of debatable issues, but allowing small incremental increases in offers causes problems in multiple ways.

It's natural to allow some flexibility, of course, but in addition to causing orders to be cancelled early it also allows later orders to "steal" sales from existing listings when someone can't make use of your decimal rate and pays you the same price your competition had been offering.
