Decaying Hex not affected by duration modifiers
In a similar vein to my previous two posts, I've just now discovered that Decaying Hex does not appear to be affected by duration modifiers. Its base duration is 8 seconds, as compared to my Despair's 6.6 seconds, but with my +75% skill duration and +20% curse duration my Despair seems to be lasting ~60% longer than Decaying Hex.
This doesn't really make any sense. Regardless of whether it's innate or from a support gem, Decaying Hex is just as much a part of the skill's effect as anything else it does. Duration modifiers should apply. This would be overpowered as-is, but that's only because 1 DoT per Int for 8 seconds is waaaaaaay overpowered. If damage and duration modifiers applied, you could easily drop that down to 1 DoT per 2 Int or maybe even 3 Int, and it would still be more viable at higher levels than it is now. แก้ไขล่าสุดโดย Kyna_Tiona#1060 เมื่อ 12 มิ.ย. 2025 01:51:52 ขุดครั้งสุดท้าย เมื่อ 13 มิ.ย. 2025 03:17:59

" What? No, it's not overpowered. It does no damage, the only reason you socket that support is to get one more debuff on the target in order to get +1 proj from effigy. The reason skill duration modifiers don't apply is because they modify skills, not supports. This is not a bug. |

" Please note the tense. Decaying Hex would be overpowered if they fixed this apparent bug without reducing its base damage. " Not only is that a pedantic distinction, it's also not in the evidence. If that were the design philosophy, then Vitality should not be affected by Life Regeneration Rate, the extra Area of Effect granted by Magnified Effect shouldn't be affected by skill modifiers, and so on. Heck, the support gem most similar to Decaying Hex is Impending Doom, which is affected by skill and Chaos modifiers. You're just wrong. |

" No, it's not pedantic. No, impending doom is not in the same universe in terms of functionality. Ditto for magnified effect. I've already explained why, but I'll try to make it simpler so maybe you can attempt to understand: Both of the supports you listed affect the skill/spell, which then gets further modified either from gear or tree. Decaying Hex applies an entirely separate dot effect, which is NOT a skill/spell. Not a bug, understood? แก้ไขล่าสุดโดย arandan#3174 เมื่อ 13 มิ.ย. 2025 02:53:10

But its the same as corrupting cry. It works the same but with Str.
Corrupting cry doesnt scale with more time but it does with swift affliction, without the duration nerf which is insane. Also it scales with damage support gem, global damage increase, physical damage increase and warcry damage... which decaying hex doesnt. Oh and corrutping cry is 250% str instead of the 100% int... If the forums were a mediaval court, it would be filled with jesters and doomsayers แก้ไขล่าสุดโดย Dovolan#6140 เมื่อ 13 มิ.ย. 2025 03:18:40
