Freythorn Quest Reward
Hello,
I think it's the Freythorn quest in Act 1 where you get the choice of three different charms to pick for a reward, either cold, fire or I think lightning? What is the purpose of this choice? Is there some kind of cognitive challenge to the choice that makes it fun? Why did you guys design it this way? Why shouldn't players just always pick the cold charm, because they will face Geonor later? Is that the purpose? To aquire some kind of mastery by knowing you will need the cold charm for the Geonor fight? Or is the choice just personal preference? In that regard, I don't really understand the preference here. It's not like this is some build related choice, like I need fire res for this build or cold res for that build. It's either random or mandatory. And if that's the case it's not really a well designed reward, is it? Seems like a small detail, but maybe speaks a bit about some core issues to the design philosophy of the game.
