Patch 0.4.0 - Druid Wishlist Compilation Thread, Share Your Ideas!

As Druid was pushed back to Content Patch 0.4.0 (GGG confirmed Druid will be released in 0.4.0), I thought it would be fun to have a wishlist compilation thread to see what everyone would like to see in terms of Druid skills and ascendancies.

I'll go first with a few Druid skills and ascendancy choices. Feel free to share your ideas below!

Ascendancy Classes

* Feral Shape. — melee-focused shapeshifter
* Nature's Wrath. — nature-based elemental caster
* Beastmaster. — animal companion-based summoner


Feral Shapeshifting Skills

* Strength Persistent Buff Gem — Bear Form. While active, Druid shapeshifts into a Dire Bear (Tank).
* Dexterity Persistent Buff Gem — Wolf Form. While active, Druid shapeshifts into a Dire Wolf (DPS).


Nature's Wrath Skills

* Strength Skill Gem — Volcano. Create a volcano that spews forth lava balls.
* Strength Skill Gem — Molten Boulder. Create rolling mass of magma.
* Dexterity Skill Gem — Wall of Thorns. Create a wall of thorns which bleeds enemies.
* Dexterity Skill Gem — Entangling Roots. Entangling Roots sprouts from ground and roots enemies.
* Intelligence Skill Gem — Typhoon. Conjure a violent rotating storm around your character.
* Intelligence Skill Gem — Sleet Storm. Conjure freezing rain that freezes your enemies.
* Intelligence Skill Gem — Lightning Storm. Conjure a lightning storm that strikes enemies.


Beastmaster Skills

* Strength Skill Gem — Summon Wolves. Summons 3 wolf minions to attack enemies.
* Dexterity Skill Gem — Summon Treefolk. Summons a sentient tree, guardian of the forest.
* Dexterity Skill Gem — Summon Carrion Vine. Summons vine that eats corpses and gives Druid life.
* Intelligence Skill Gem — Summon Crows. Summons 5 crow minions. They fly overhead attacking enemies and pecks out their eyes, which applies daze on hit.


Persistent Buff Skills

* Strength Persistent Buff Gem — Barkskin. Skin becomes tough as bark, reducing physical damage and gain poison immunity.
* Intelligence Persistent Buff Gem — Absorb Elements. Absorb elemental damage and heals life equivalent to that damage.

I hope it's not werebear or werewolf or smth. I want to shapeshift into a real bear or real tiger. I'm done playing with human shaped beast forms.

The druid showcase they showed before 0.1 even launched, Bear form was just a normal looking bear and not werebear, hopefully they kept that.
- Like they did with the change on demon form, while transformed, your weapon still matter. I was worried about that when the old demon form was around.

- To promote multiple shapeshift form, I hope they will not create ability where they sole purpose is to shapeshift into that form. Instead, create skill like "Bear Claw" when used you automatically transform into bear (with a delay like the reload on crossbow) until you use a non-bear ability for example.

- A out of the box form: We always see the same forms again & again when a druid class pop up in any game -> Wolf, Bear & Tree. Personally I would like to see an avian form with synergy with thunder & wind. Or if they want to keep those old one, make them with a twist: For example instead of a wolf form, we could have a wolf pack form.

- A different kind of minion build: We already got the "build your army". I don't really see the need to have the same reskin with a nature theme. Either a one & strong minion - companion is already here but it really fail HARD on the strong part. Or temporary minion one.

- Druid being a Caster/Shapeshifting/Summoner class, I hope their ability will reflect this Jack-of-all-trade kind of game play by weaving all together their abilities. Spells that deal damage & summon temporary minion by consuming elemental ailment for example. Or shapeshifting that have synergy with minion gameplay (like the wolf pack form). And damaging spells than enhance your shapeshifting ability with temporary buff when you transform.

I hope they nail this part this time but I don't have really high hope as they already kind of failed with the Witch already. They tried to make some hybrid Caster/Minion build but so far, they didn't succeed. Probably because they didn't bother weaving their scaling part as it's counter productive to scale both minion damage & spell damage.

Agree, and think it would be cool for the Druid to shapeshift into a dire wolf/dire bear...

I guess I dont know how the druid we are currently enjoying became a dire wolf or bear when in old lore they were nothing of that kind at all ...

So more like Clerics of nature but I guess the Wolf /Bear form was what Diablo came up with and now everyone follows that path now. So more Nature magic for me kind of like what D4 did with Ariah?? Or if u ever read the series that had Allanon from the Shanara Series ?? I dont totally dismiss the bear / wolf form as its considered standard for most game nowdays..
In game since Minotaur League..
I want to feel big and stong and dangerous. ferocious beast in different forms. Nature's wrath in human form. Not only elemental skills as primal but also nature themed like roots and sht
