Bleeding Concoction and Herald of Blood

I had planned on using Bleeding Concoction from the Pathfinder ascendancy tree with Herald of Blood (I feel like a pretty obvious combination). However, Herald of Blood requires a martial weapon and Bleeding Concoction requires unarmed so they can't be used together. Is this an oversight or intended?

Also Wind Dancer requires a Martial Weapon?
