Heralds not working 0.3.0

I have just unlocked Hollow Palm Technique not my herald is not active. I have the toggle on and unequipped and re equipped numerous times. The sport gauge goes down on the toggle screen for the herald but all other sources that show spirit have it at full point.

Let me clean up some of the language here. My spirt when activating the heralds drops on the toggle screen but show change on all other sources that show you how much spirit you have. It also seems not to be procting since I gain hallow palm skill even if I put a staff in my hands.
