Storm Wave skill becomes nearly unusable after sloppy and lazy collision fix in Patch 0.2.0

The Storm Wave ability in patch 0.1.0 had a bug where, during an attack, its fissure could fly through all obstacles if you stood right up against any immovable object, be it a wall, water texture or a log on the ground. It got to the point where just skipping the first obstacle would completely disable the ability's collision with all other obstacles in its path. It was obvious that this was a bug and it needed to be fixed.

In patch 0.2.0 this bug was fixed in the most idiotic and lazy way possible — by forcing the fissure to stop dead upon touching any obstacle in its path. And if you have the Upheaval support gem, if the main fissure hits an obstacle, the flight of the secondary fissures stops at that exact same moment. Moreover, the fissure's width also affects its stopping point. If, for example, you have a high Area of Effect value, which increases the fissure's width to ridiculous sizes, then if even a single pixel of the fissure grazes any obstacle, the fissure doesn't move any further.

As a result, the ability has become completely unusable and broken, especially if you're playing on maps like Freythorn or Vaal City, because they are full of narrow alleys and obstacles. Continuing the idea of a large fissure width from the previous paragraph, if you're fighting monsters in such narrow streets, the ability just doesn't work and doesn't hit the monsters that are right on top of me, chewing me to death.

I was hoping that in 0.3.0 GGG would fix this sloppy and lazy bugfix from 0.2.0, but, as it turns out, it remained unchanged, even though I've seen threads from other players in the bug report section since April,
so you had a lot of time to get familiar with the problem

This shows that you couldn't even been bothered to fix an ability that you yourselves killed to the point of being simply unusable.
