Waveshaper Unique Chest Bug

The portion of Waveshaper that gives a % of Max Mana as Armour seems to not be taking into account any % increases or the mana from Eldritch Battery.I noticed my armour number seemed lower than expected when I have 1,139 mana but if I refund my points in Eldritch Battery(ES->Mana) and Raw Mana(8% increased mana) the math works out with my then max mana of 670.

This is how Conversion and Gain as work in PoE2.

A stat is only affected by increased/reduced and more/less modifiers by the final stat it ends up as.
When you Gain % of Max Mana as Armour, it's only affected by modifiers to Armour.

With the exception of damage conversion inherent to a skill, all Conversion and Gain As occurs at the same time. This means that conversion in PoE2 is single-step only.
You cannot convert ES to Mana to Armour. The ES converted to Mana has no bearing on the Mana gained as Armour.

While that is true, the wording is extremely misleading.
Even without factoring in EB, which makes sense, the fact that the calculation takes your BASE mana, before % inc is applied, is in no way intuitive.

We can test this: I have 30% increased Maximum Mana.

2766 * 0.70 = 1936 mana (no added %)

(1936* 0.12) + 123 = 355, rounded down - that's close enough to 363, but far away from the expected 454 armour.

How and why are we supposed to interpret an affix that says "Gain 10% of Maximum Mana as Armour" as "Gain 10% of your BASE Maximum Mana as Armour"?
