Magma Barrier Issues and feedback

The "Magma Barrier" skill has the "Compressed Duration" support gem as a recommended gem but it says "This support can't be socketed in to this Skill"

Magma Barrier was one of my favourite skills together with resonating shield, timing it with raising your shield to block an attack felt very nice. I have mixed feelings about the change to a endless 8 second loop.

Before the change it was somewhat funny but mostly awesome to just smack your shield in to the face of your enemies and just melt them away, now that it's automated it feels less active and more passive.
