Why haven't they added a way to remove or change the option you selected with the tattoo?

Yes, I get that it's a TATTOO... Don't be stupid... In a world where you can shoot fireballs, you can magically swap tattoos.

But you shouldn't have to remake a whole character to min-max just because you made a bad choice while leveling, not realizing it was permanent and unchangeable...

Other games of this genre (including PoE1) have realized this is a bad decision to not allow you to respec this type of choice or at the very least fire off a big WARNING in front of you to let you know that it was permanent... vs other mechanics/choices which are changeable later on.

Yes I was acting under a bad assumption that a concept similar to PoE1 would exist to allow you to change this later.

So now, I'm stuck with a bad choice or re-making my character entirely... Modern games in this genre have realized this is inappropriate... Especially on Softcore play... Again, even POE1 had ways to change this... So... Why the heck is this a thing?

I ultimately consider this a mistake on ggg's part. Similar to endgame portals, it may be more immersive to have those types of decisions be permanents, but it is not softcore playstyle friendly and is a quality of life improvement the game desperately needs.

Having to touch the well when going to town, endgame portal counts, and lack of movement skills/forcing engagement with a crappy dodge roll mechanic, and trials from leagues I didn't personally care for being core content you need to engage with for ascendancy are the main issues I see limiting PoE2 from being the quality game it should be... Forcing hardcore/time wasting mechanics into softcore gameplay isn't the answer. Personally, I can't stand it.

This just goes on the list of why I loved PoE1 and can't stand PoE2... Despite multiple attempts to give it a chance.

Please work on correcting this in the future.

Personally I dont really care.

If i make a wrong choice im either lacking +5 of a stat or +5% of an elemental resistance, either way its essentially irrelevant.

Having said that I cant really give any good reasoning for why you shouldnt be allowed to change it, but lets not exaggerate a "bad choice" here would never force you to remake your character. You have +5% fire res instead of +5 str (or whatever), it doesnt really matter.
