My opinions for current endgame
The biggest problem that causes endgame in Poe 2 is that I must juice maps with towers at first, so these maps are poor in value to grind before I find a tower and insert tablets.
Then I have to find which maps have the most encounters, especially including bosses, and figure out how to access them if it's a deadly boss map. But deadly boss maps are too troublesome to get access to. Normal boss maps are more common, but the pathing in Atlas is quite a long time, for both towers and bosses, because I'll need to drag the sandbox to find where they are. Keep juicing waystones from magical to 6 mods are boring too because this waystone means nothing (poor loots) if just 6 mods here. I'll vaal them to hope I can get more rarity. But rarity is quite tricky to get more, 53+ t15 maps I juiced by exalted orbs and vaal orbs, only one of them has 100%+ rarity. If I want more rarity, being delirious is the only choice. But 60% delirious is the max for +4 chaos skills + lv 19 skill gems + 9600+ es + capped elemental resistances can control. This waystone will be lost once I'm slain, so it's quite risky when I want to juice waystones more. Another encounter I'd like to see is ritual, but the rewards from that are quite RNG. I want to bonus ritual more, but I need to grind enough maps to get enough splinters + my dps and my defence must be enough at first. Ritual is the only encounter which friendly for newbies and not too hard to fight with exclusive bosses. I have no idea why other encounters are boring or too dangerous. Enemies from breach will split me into fragments if I can't one-shot them. Different mods for expeditions increase the level of strategies, but logbooks are rare. 2 maps available for logbooks only, and meeting bosses in these maps is the most helpful way to get more loot, which means it's quite RNG too, not so much guaranteed sides. The hierarchy of waystones is boring, too. From clearing 10 t xx maps to slain bosses, the way to keep my waystones sustainable and climb up to higher tiers improves a lot, but I still need to grind so many maps for promising I have enough waystones to grind under the next waystone tier, which means my profit must be reduced if loots relevant to waystone's tiers. Not only is 15 levels a quite so pretty very long process, but also I don't feel what differences this hierarchy brings to profits. Rare gears which higher tiers and more item levels only drop in t15 maps indeed, but currencies in my stash decide when I can craft my gears.
