Crafting in right direction, it´s fun, but balance is bad.

edit: This thread is about balancing the current crafting system so it´s accessible not only for the top percent but also for casuals in a weaker way. Not for kids to lose their minds unable to grasp other people have different perspective and find strong crafting more fun.

Crafting is going in the right direction, i am having fun with crafting this league.


The problem is how expensive it is, any real crafting is just available for the top few percent of the playerbase. And a core system only available for a small percentage of the playerbase, i don´t think that is a good thing.


In my opinion all the expensive and rare omens should be available in greater/perfect like the main currencies are. But capped ilvl on the bases and/or max ilvl rolls on the stats. So going for mirror tier items ilvl 82+ is as expensive as it is now. But casuals can also participate in the crafting and craft ok low/mid tier items reasonable cheap.

For example: Normal omens = max ilvl 50, greater 60, perfect no cap.

Just example numbers to show the point, of course the exact numbers would need to be balanced.

No way, homogenising and some other omens are way too overpowered to be common. If anything, just remove it from the game completely

Make those omens more common and there's no place for anything not perfect in the market, dropped items that aren't base also become obsolete. It's already close to being the case right now, imagine with that

You might as well remove rare drops from ever dropping

You obviously are absolutely clueless about crafting and talking about stuff you know nothing about if you think bases/stats capped at ilvls can be anywhere close to perfect.

The ilvls of course needs to be balanced, the numbers i gave is just example numbers to show the point.

For example on amulets: Resists, t4 = ilvl 50. t3 = ilvl 60.


If the cap would be 50 on normal ones, would mean you can never roll better then a t4 resist. etc.

This would do absolutely nothing in terms of creating op equipment, this low level rolls are what people vendor trash because it´s so useless at end-game, it would only allow casuals to also have some fun with the crafting.

I don't remember what you wrote before the edit in the op, but regardless, it probably doesn't change the answer much. If you cap by the base like gnawed version of bones and not making those omens usable to higher level bases, then it's not as bad but still problematic. If you cap by just what it can roll "like the main currencies are", then yea, you completely make drops useless. If you think a common omen of whittling wouldn't be overpowered, I don't know what to tell you

Common omens capped at both max ilvl and affix level so they can only be used to craft what in end-game are considered vendor trash are far from op. Its nothing to discuss, low tiered rolls are vendor trash for a reason, that is just a factual truth anyone with any knowledge will quickly understands. Pointless to discuss anything with people like you. Anything you don´t personally like you overexaggerate in pure strawman arguments.

Oh no, casuals can participate in the crafting with making some vendor trash, extremely early mapping items. Oh my god, how will the game ever survive. The implications are so huge, oooh nooooo.

All the abyss omens will be much more rare in 0.4, don't worry...

THese crafting things are tied to Abyss. Next league will no longer be abyss, you may find abyss in 1/10 maps, instead of every single map.

Not really, most omens are not abyss specific. It´s only the desecrated related stuff that are abyss specific.

The desecrated stuff are very strong though, making those omens significantly more rare, will just make the gap even bigger between casuals and hardcores. Enhancing the point i try to make with this thread.

That's the point -- they don't want YOU to have stuff. They want 24/7 players to have stuff. They want YOU living in gaming poverty. By design.

That's why they call it "aspirational content" be it gear, or high level bosses, in POE 1 the game is tuned so that 95% cannot ever achieve anything or get a single chase item of note.

So what you're feeling is their vision, designed this way on purpose to make you little people want to be big boys with real gear and blah blah blah. "Aspirational" too much for the average player.
