Extra content in old and new maps

After testing some old (with stats from old towers) and new (empty) maps with basic tablets and without explicit content tablets I have a few questions:

1) I watched a few youtube videos about the patch and saw that all content creators still got the content map icons in their old maps. Is that the case? Because I lost all icons on every single map including all old ones back to the starting point.

2) The patch notes state that the game now creates 1-3 extra content on each map while opening it. So far I only found strongboxes, essence and wisps (no more than one per map even with atlas points for them) besides abyss. Are you now required to use content tablets for breach, delirium, ritual and expedition and forgo even more map stats?

3) How to sustain tablets? I only found a single new tablet (from a tower) so far and I'm still using the node on the atlas. That is so much lower than before (at least one in every two maps) the patch and without my saved old tablets I would have to buy them all. With this droprate they will be expensive quite fast.
