Spark wont use my wand

For some reason Spark wont use my wand when casting and just does it unarmed. This means I dont get any damage from my wand or focus added to it. I played around equipping different wands and it started to work eventually but then broke again after two maps.

It appears that it just doesnt work in weapon set 1 at all. To get it to work for now I have had to set it as weapon set 2.
