Trial of Chaos - Survive until the Timer Expires
After running a good number of Trial of Chaos encounters, I’d like to share some feedback regarding the “Survive until the timer expires” mechanic.
Currently, defeating rare monsters doesn’t reduce the timer, unlike in the Trial of Sekhemas (Hourglass), where killing rares shortens the remaining duration. I assume this design is intentional, since the Trial of Chaos includes ground effects that theoretically increase difficulty the longer the player remains inside. However, in practice, the ground effects can usually be avoided (both when selecting negative parameters as well as just by doding, if you are forced to take it), and for stronger characters who clear waves quickly, the trial often becomes a matter of waiting for new spawns—making it feel slower and less engaging. By contrast, in the Trial of Sekhemas, players are rewarded for strong clear speed with faster completions, which feels more dynamic and satisfying. Would it be possible to consider a similar timer reduction in the Trial of Chaos when rare monsters are defeated? It could make the encounter more rewarding for efficient play while keeping the intended challenge intact. I’d also be curious to hear if others feel the same way, or if there’s a specific design reason the timer must always run fully. ขุดครั้งสุดท้าย เมื่อ 7 ต.ค. 2025 09:03:00
