eldrich empowermeant broken since patch?

so noticed something with all thes extra deaths since patch, every time my contagion "jumps" and spreads it take an ES hit as if i casted it (eldrich empowerment)... so its evaporating my ES hence the falling over with 11.5K ES randomly and often

3 maps in a row that shouldnt be hard ive literally killed myself by 11.3k ES dissapearing while contageon spreads off screen while i back out from packs

this wasnt happening prior to patch
