Broken spirit

I have a lvl 66 sorceress, all lightning build. My spirit is completely broken on this character in the abyssal league.i have removed everything that has to do with spirit and left my character with the basic spirit given in the game. No matter what I do I cannot get my spirit to function. I have skeletal snipers in my skills but have not assigned any spirit to activate them and yet the game thinks I have 3 snipers activated, if I activate 3 or more I still only have 3. They disappear if I remove the skill gem. I have barrier invocation enabled at its basic lvl with no other support gems in it and it still does not work. I need help please, I love how this character is and I would rather not give up on her.
