Plot hole. Atziri communion happens after we see a 4-armed statue.
|
I've been playing 3 act and saw a 4-armed statue of Atziri in Aggorat (past), which means that Atziri has already been corrupted in that timeline. But after that after I fought Doryani he said "She will attempt her communion with the Beast, and utter devastation will ravage our people."

Time is convoluted. Or maybe that's not Atziri? It could be a goddess of beauty and Atziri envisioned herself like that. We got an explanation of skill gems from Doryani, saying that they represent the people's belief on their culture, the power of their gods. Maybe something like

This all begins in act 1 when you go to the Red Vale, collect runes, and then for some reason Renly still forges them into spikes - all without ever needing to find any magic tree in the Grelwood in the first place, and therefore having no reason for us to need or request magic rune-spikes for anything.
Just some good old fashioned "Oh you found some old rune items in the Vale? Just give them to me and let me turn them into magic rune-spikes that you haven't asked for and don't need. You're welcome" I know Renly's dialogue is kind of structured in a way to skirt around this, but there's still the issue of why you ask him to make spikes without having any reason. After some light detective work I discovered that the real reason for your issue and mine is that this is a game and it doesn't fuckin matter at all whatsoever and magic rune-spikes along with statues with 4 boobed demons are awesome. |

That's because it would suck if we had to visit objectives in correct order for quests to trigger.
What OP is talking about is (seemingly) contradicting the order of the sequence of events that occurred in ...whenever that was. |

Hear me out.
Maybe Atziri wore some fake extra arms to a party one time and somebody turned it into a statue and Atziri liked the statue and became to think of it as her idealized self so when the beast did his thaumaturgy on her she self-actualized into that idealized form. Look at every other transformation by the beast, I think the next cleanest one is the count at the end of act one, every other one is all lumps and tentacles. IGN : Reamus

Not a plot hole, those statues are aspirational. She knows what she wants.

" Could also be thats what the general vaal population thought/wanted of her. PoE deities are forged by their believers perception of them. "Beidat honored the pact, though Mancy wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype."
