Since melee is bad and ranged is by far better i have the perfect changes

So if melee is bad is not because its bad desgined, is because ranged is way better designed so instead of making melee improved why not making ranged bad too? seens the perfect balance

so here are my ideas my ideas to make ranged worse (lol)

Damage reduction on distance of skill

All enemy using shield deflect projectiles bacK

Make projectile and cast speed extremely slow to they have to invest in

Force animation lock while attacking
Nothing says “great combat” like being frozen in place and eating damage for daring to shoot.

ntentionally slow projectiles
Arrows that travel like they’re tired. Enemies casually step aside and laugh.

Inconsistent hitboxes
You clearly hit the target, the game clearly disagrees. Trust issues unlocked.

Damage that only works at a perfect distance
One pixel too close or too far and your DPS collapses.

Too many conditions to function
Must stand still, have buffs active, enemy debuffed, stars aligned. Just to do normal damage.

Absurd mana costs
Every shot drains half your mana pool. Auto-attacking in 2025 is a bold design choice.

Paper-thin defenses
Ranged with no real mobility or survivability. One mistake and you’re gone.

Awkward projectile collision with terrain
Tiny rocks, stairs, railings. Your arrows hit everything except enemies.

Design every fight around melee range
Then act surprised when ranged feels pointless, make boss rooms little as possible

Force close-range shotgunning for damage
So the “ranged” build is strongest when hugging enemies. Poetry.

Let enemies spawn on top of you
Ranged advantage eliminated instantly. Tactical depth achieved.

Introduce fake choice in skill trees
Several nodes exist solely to be wrong. Exploration!

Hide important ranged stats behind vague wording
“More” vs “Increased.” Surprise mechanics are educational.

Give enemies stealth and teleport at the same time
Surprise melee is the best counter to ranged. Always.

Make Your Ammo Count as a Finite Resource

Why not make sure that every ranged build needs to constantly worry about running out of arrows or bullets? Who doesn’t love the idea of a hunter with no ammo, standing there helplessly, staring down a horde of monsters with nothing but a bowstring?


At this point, ranged in PoE 2 isn’t a playstyle.
It’s a lifestyle choice for people who enjoy self-inflicted problems and being told it’s “working as designed.”
