Fissure/Slam/Melee too unreliable compared to ranged

I just realized a big reason melee feels so bad (among other things) compared to ranged and it's the environment.
Trying a Falling Thunder build this season and I do 3 different abilities to get my power charges going and get ready for a BIG SLAM and oops, slammed too close to a bush!!! 9 out of the 10 fissures get lost in the bush/chair/crack in the ground. Abyss is 10x harder playing a fissure/melee build just because of the cracks in the ground, all the fissures get lost in the 1 foot crack. While I agree melee has problems compared to ranged I don’t know if I necessarily agree with this one.
Take for example wyvern oil barrage - it’s ranged, and COUNTLESS times it’s gone no where for me, because of ever so slight and 100% imperceptible rises in the terrain. Apparently a friggin dragon can’t spit its attacks more than 2 foot above the ground. Terrain gets in the way of ranged all the time. |
