Problems with new Stormborne MTX

When I logged in today, I noticed that the Stormborne armour MTX I had acquired from the recent mystery box was no longer working as it should. The "fregid" and the "thunderous" effects were no longer spreading to the weapon and/or back attachment, like they were just last night, or how they do in the shown example from POE2's website.

Am I doing something wrong here, or is this just a glitch? I do have the entire armour set equipped. I don't have photos of what it looked like last night, but the effect on both variants was working on the weapon and wings.

Same here. My Stormborne armour MTX spread to the weapon/back attachment was working last night (both Frigid and Thunderous), but today it no longer propagates. Full set equipped. Relogging/zone changes didn’t fix it either—seems like a bug. Please investigate.

This is what I found from patch notes. It is not acceptable. This “bug fix” removes the exact visual behavior shown in the official showcase (the Frigid/Thunderous effects spreading onto weapons/back attachments), and it’s a major reason many of us bought/rolled for this set. If it’s being changed intentionally, it should be communicated clearly in advance and treated as a product change, not quietly labeled a bug. Please revert it!!

So they falsely advertised this? Is there a way to reach them about it, or do we just have to pray someone from GGG sees this?

I just wanted to register here that GGG altered their website and switched the GIF/Video/Image that showcased that visual effect. It now has a version that does not pass on the visual effect to the weapon. This honestly feels criminal, and I reached out to them formally. I suggest that all of you experiencing the same issue reach out to them for a resolution.

Going to bump this because I thought it was just a bug that the MTX effects stopped working. Now that I've seen that they've literally altered the way the MTX item works/lootbox page AFTER I've purchased the items, I'm really upset.

This is really not cool. Is it even legal to change lootbox contents after you start selling them? Does false advertising mean nothing anymore?

We should bump this for awareness.

Especially when they gifted us 1 x Mystery MTX, i'm sure quite a number of others also went about spending some $$$ or used some ingame coins.

The effects show up on the main character selection / MTX custom panels, but does not show up as active on your avatar.

Details like this are noticed...GGG this is surely an over sight?

Either correct it (u say bug?) or give us the option to disable or enable it.

Because it doesn't break the game, right?

I'm just assuming they aren't changing it back at this point for whatever reason. I reached out to support because I purchased the entire lootbox contents for these armor sets, but they were changed after I purchased them.

The answer I'm getting from support is they can refund the armor pieces "but not the back attachments" (despite also shown to have their elemental effect removed from the original gif on the lootbox poe2 page). Which is extra fun because the chaotic back attachment was the last thing in the box.

So now I've spent over $300 on a lootbox to just feel kind of scammed. I didn't even really want anything else in the box. I feel like it's extra crazy because it's not even asking for a refund in cash, just coins. It's going right back into your own system bros, you're losing nothing. Why piss off customers.

Yeah, they just won't refund the back attachments despite the fact that they also had the elemental effects day 1. I still would have been mad they won't just refund me the entire lootbox I purchased FOR THESE ITEMS, but I would have accepted it and moved on.

Instead they're being stubborn over what is essentially $20 worth of currency that would go right back into their own system when I've thrown in over $300.

I don't know what to say other than I'll be more careful with my money and this company from now on.
