Meta gem randomly stopped working.

I have a lvl 17 Cast on Crit, full quality and sockets.
Yesterday it just randomly stopped working.
On my skills screen it shows as active, with the correct amount of unreserved spirit display.
On the game interface, however, the buff icon doesn't show, and unreserved Spirit isn't showing the reservation for the Cast on Crit.

I have cut a replacement gem, added quality and sockets, and it's working correctly, for now.

Replacement gem now randomly stopped working.
