Wolfpack inconsistent amount of wolves

I have lvl26 wolfpack, same spirit both sets, using in with support Tecrod's Revenge. There should be 8 wolves from this gem at this lvl. Often the amount of wolves gets lowered, moreover it starts to be different between sets. I have talisman + scepter and wand + scepter (same). So right hand weapon only changes between sets.

Disabling and enabling skill fixes that immediately. Also fixes sometimes by itself, though takes different amount of time and usually not one Tecrod's revenge cycle.
