I'm almost done with the campaign experience (aka. the game) this league and like everyone else has said already, the game is all too easy. Previous leagues felt much better in terms of challenge and as consequence felt as a much more rewarding experience. Just fyi, I'm not playing meta or using a guide.

Some classes are overtuned and it is easier for them than the other. Having play two classes I found one tough and the other easy. That will be balanced.

Now unless you have beaten the Arbiter on HCSSF I think there are still challenges. Try SSF instead of buying everything. Try to craft your own gear. Try HC maybe. Until then you will have to wait.

You want it harder relative to your class ... that is subjective and might make it impossible for other classes. Balance is not simple.
Let me change your perspective OP, campaign aka. the tutorial

For the negatives, the most disappointing aspect for me was the boss encounters. They are nowhere near what we were promised from GGG. In my experience with a casual, non-min/maxed build I was downing them in seconds. No mechanics, no threat, no excitement, nothing.

At this point, Poe 2 is barely a game with mostly all of its challenge striped away.

Turns out the game gets easier the more you play it. Feel free to do some speed runs, hitless, or weird builds. You can have a much difficulty as you like.

pretty much, you can def choose your own adventure in poe2. this league playing, or rather attempting, fire witch i got really REALLY good at dodging Napuazzi spears. so the mechanics are still very much there. well till Interludes, shit breaks down there real fast, 3/10 for interludes from me
i stopped reading when he called the campaign "the game"

go reroll if "the game" is too easy lmao

Well that's funny because to me loot pinatas are supposed to be exciting, and at least 80% of all the loot in this game is literally garbage, you can spend 200 exalts crafting the item that you want or just buy them for just 10 exalts from other players

That's also one of the reasons why 90% of the community uses lootfilters, can we really use the term "loot pinata" when the only thing dropping is trash?

I really do feel that in a game that works off simply mathematics, where employing the numbers correctly will allow you to overpower practically any encounter any mechanic any "challenge", it is not really a good place to be looking for a challenge.

And if you insist on looking for a challenge in a genre where the whole point is to accumulate enough numbers to overpower everything, then you could always take off some of those numbers yourself.

For me the whole reason this genre even exists is so people can feel powerful, not to provide a challenge. I don't believe this genre ever really provided a challenge to anyone. Even with some of the games that provide infinitely scaling endgame content, ultimately it's a mathematical problem that doesn't require any player skill beyond pointing and clicking quickly.
I don't agree that the game is too easy. It is too much like a slot machine. Because of that it has to be easier. If we had to lock in every map, players would quickly get burned out.

Slot machine have to be mindless. My problem is how much "fun" is designed to come from being a slot machine. Slot machines bore me personally. However, quite a few players like the mindless slot machine so I don't know.

+1 to the OP.

Current game state is very unfinished and its not clear what its meant to be.

From 1-year teasers, and all hype around 0.1, most of skills and overall mob and player design its meant to be souls-like, challenging, slowere paced non-poe1 game with hardcore mechanics like closing maps after death.

But looks like they pushed too hard by the poe1 fans in patch 0.2 so they nerfed bosses and mobs and extremely overtuned packsize (instead mob power) on maps and added league mechanics with timers and tons of random mobs swarming at you - abyss, deli, breach.
First few additions and patch 0.2 was very different (wisps and rogue exiles) which fits slower and meaningful combat but now these mechanics are very underwhelming - both wisps and rogue exiles not even close to the abyss profit.

Currently GGG seems to want to test limits / trying different strategies and looks like they are trying to please both crowds - meaningful combat soulslike slow game (me here) and PoE1 zoomer blaster fans.

I personally don't get why they need to make a PoE1 clone, if theres already one good game for that, receiving updates and leagues. And it does zoomy endgame way better with so much more content and better performance, so don't see any reason to be like that in PoE2.

I Like PoE1, i spent almost 4k hours there, but i think im getting to old for that kind of speed and shit happening on the screen and i just want more engaging different game from PoE2.

We will see what it become on release.
