Trials are the worst gameplay experience PoE2 has to offer!

Get it, we have standards.
Glad you enjoy a RNG based game with honor and you know other elements that have nothing to do with the game, like ohh honor relics , and honor resist and everything in those zones.
You dont even realize you summarized why it sucks.
You highlighted how much of your time you wasted.
You want the rest of us to do that crap also .... No.
Nobody is going to engage with that crap given ANY choice.
Thats why people pay not to do it.
People will pay enough to buy full sets of top end gear NOT to engage with it.
GGG can keep trying to force players [Removed by Support]
Its their game, they can fail at it however they want.
I won't buy a single thing as long as they exist.
Ill play this free game till im done with it, i'm not a paying customer and as long as trials exist never will be.
in those many many hours you spend in each character in each league, you only do those trials twice, nobody is forcing you to grind them, you do one sekhemas around level 24, one chaos trial around level 40, another chaos trial around 75,which most people usually dont even bother with because you can do 3 floor sekhemas instead at an earlier level, and another last sekhemas around level 80 and above, it is supposed to be challenging you absolute talentless baboons, you do these trials only twice each in that 200 hours you play a league for, it takes %1 of your playtime in total, first sekhemas and first trial of chaos are a walk in the park, if you know how to read game already helps you navigate through the first one of each, you already have 4 ascendancy points in act 3 if you are not an illiterate monkey. Now anything else after that people usually pay for because they dont want to bother, NOT BECAUSE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE, because it is not like the usual boss or map grind, it has different mechanics, different rooms and waiting and weighing time between them, it takes TIME, and they dont want to bother.
people with videogame illiteracy shouldnt speak on game mechanics, you clearly dont invest the necessary time and effort required into a build for it to function, then you come here and complain about mechanics.
First thing I didn’t say it’s impossible. It’s just about time and luck.
Game is literally forcing me to do that for obtaining ascendancy points, doesn’t matter if it’s just 0.000% of playtime. As same as forcing me to do campaign each time again. Every league starts with 8-12h of boredom (in my case) until some fun part comes up. And yes it perfectly prevents me from making second character in league. I have tried, few times…
I don’t think that is the right way, game have to be fun. Experiencing have to be funny, growing up characters have to be fun. Ascendancy points system is just a peak of that process with is extremely annoying.
I really don't get blocking game mechanics with some bs, didn't like it in Poe1 but it wasn't annoying. That is the issue, it's long and annoying! Hell Last Epoch has much better approach to this.
So you want everything to be granted just by playtime and no skill involved, right?
No, I want to play and have fun with it.
Ascendant trials are not fun at all, and close your progress through game in middle.
Remade trials to be funny or grant points by another way.
And ffs give us something like advanture mode in d3 or other solution for campaign skip.

There is a simple strategy - pick safe routes, that you have 2 choises when next rooms and afflictions are unknown. And you'll be fine. I failed runs in 0.3 patch only because i was greedy, i wanted gold keys, and took risky routes.
It is just different content - if you want all content be like mapping - it is boring.
I have more problems with chaos trials as that ... bird boss oneshots(or very fast consecutive attacks) but other bosses are also hard
Idk why you want skip campain - it is the most enjoyable content - you are using spell, dodging, see what is going on screen - you get meaningful and reactive combat. In endgame you just don't see what your char is doing and wipe whole screen - to some degree it is satisfactory, but lacking meaningful combat( running away from tons of on ground effects is not fun)
The trials feel bad because you get bullied by RNG into being weak.
No one likes playing on a gimped version of their character, it just feels bad.
I feel like there's some psychological loss aversion trap happening here because when I think about it I'd always rather have "enemies do 10% more damage" over "you have 10% less defenses".
Plus it fuckin sucks when you fail the trial, and still say "you know what? lets just get a few levels, improve our gear, damage, defenses, and retry". And then on the second attempt, get fucked even harder by afflictions to the point where you were better off in the first run!
I can handedly do either trial as melee or whatever as long as I don't get fucked by afflictions - and you can get screwed in either trial very easily.
I think there needs to be some kind of overhaul over afflictions and boons in general - what they are, how you get them, how you mitigate them, etc.
Accidentally sprinting out of roll while poorly dodging a sped up flamethrower trap which then knocks me down and instantly deletes me because of the hungry fangs affliction would actually be kind of funny if I wasn't bullied into not being able to collect water, gained afflictions when I gained affliction, have no defenses, and didn't go to the rooms I picked. In that scenario it feels like the game just wanted to waste my time and send my character to sc.
And when I do make it through, completing the trial doesn't even feel like I overcame a challenge - it feels lucky that I dodged getting fucked by afflictions and also relieving that I don't have to do it again. The happiness is found in the fact that I can go back to playing the content that's actually fun.
None of that is true, the RNG is very controllable if you take the time to learn the mechanic. Sure, if you just keep trying sooner or later you'll get lucky, but if you just learn how the mechanic works you'll succeed basically every time.
Spoken like someone who's never been bullied into getting Myriad Asperions, Costly Aid, Spiked Shell, Blunt Sword, and Deceptive Mirror all before facing the first floor boss lol.
