Ritual tablets have always been much rarer and came mostly (exclusively in my experience) from 'natural' spawns, not from maps that you actually put the mechanic on.
Now after the tower 'fix', the natural spawns are no longer targetable, hence you're relegated to spamming maps until a random Ritual spawns and then hoping that a tablet drops.
I've started a new character on a fresh atlas just after 0.3.1 launched and had ONE SINGULAR tablet drop and I'm halfway through level 96.
I'm effectively no longer able to engage with crafting in the game, because it is all tied to side content that I can no longer target farm in any way/shape/form.
Why tablets are tied to their mechanics is truly beyond me. They should be global drops like scarabs in poe1. This is not a fucking complicated thing to fix.
Heyyyy I think you're onto something with "natural" spawns. Before 3.1 I was always getting a good amount of ritual tablets of monster packs near ritual circles before ritual starts but I think you're right it might've been "natural" ones. Man GGG really fucked up
