I find many posts like this overly negative and a little ungrateful, but I gotta be honest, there IS some truth here.

If you don't mind me asking, what should we be grateful for? We've paid to play this early access. What is there to be grateful for?

Yeah and the most important part of playing EA is providing constructive feedback imo. Having tantrum over changes like 9-yo spoiled brat is exact opposite (maybe that's not your case, I don't know but if you are not grateful for anything in PoE 2 then it is probably).

Not like you had any trouble getting gear

Ofc i don't. As i said , i don't have problem making currency and items without using the temple at all . But having 90 % of the people i play with leaving the game is the problem for me . Because of a bad decisions.

Providing constructive criticism also implies that when you provide criticism or input you see appropiate measures being taken. I wouldn't call rewarding those who abused "features" appropriate measures, in this case.

So excuse me if I'm not grateful for having paid to play an early access where the game developers pat abusers on the back.

#1 problem with this game IMO are the broken mechanics. GGG needs to find a way to make satifying item progression and talent tree prograssion that overlays with skill gems in such a way that it's randomized, but to some degree able to be anticipated, without TOO much bloat and complexity. Thus far the game does not do these things, and they're resting on past successes too much and just exxpecting the old formula to work without taking any chances on key revisions that this game desperately needs.

But the #2 big problem with this game, is the level of dialogue.

As others have stated in this thread, part of the purpose of Early Access is feedback and working together as a team to make a better game with the team.

As it stands the community is notihng but toxic. There is no patience, there is no communication, there is no understanding of the incredible task GGG is taking on.

Every negative is blown the hell up and all the amazing things they do is just thrown to the wayside.

Did this community take any responsibility for saying the rewards were too low, before GGG cranked them higher?

I can almost guarantee you GGG did that on ppurpose knowing full well it was going to break everything. If I were them I'd be at my wits and fed up with all this crying as the community complains about things they don't even understand yet.

But the flip side to that is GGG continuously just assumes the community is going to understand the game that they literally coded themselves and have group meetings and build the game in a bubble where they understand every aspect of hte game and know the long term plans.

There's mistakes on all sides, and dialogue and whining has spiralled so out of control that the community is no longer able to provide positive feedback, the early acceess has essentially turned sour, used as a tool to demean and make jabs towards GGG. And that's unfortunate becuase the game they have put togehter is actually amazing and they deserve far more praise.

To whine this incessently that POE 2 is a sh*t game is a self fulfilling prophecy.

If this community weren't so toxic, so negative, so wanting to cause others pain with each and every post, if we asked GGG with more tact and respect, we'd be FAR more likely to get what we want, or at least we would be more deserving of those things.

The most funny thing of all, is so much of the enjoyment of this game is soured by the attitude of the community. In another world, where we were more grateful and didn't have these short fuses, we would all be enjoying this game way more simply because everyone wasn't ruining each others' experiences.

I don't know what caused this supremely negative downturn in these gaming communities, maybe it's the craziness of the past few years, or tik tock ruining everyone's attention spans, and all these message boards just getting a little more toxic and negative year on year for the past 15 years, but I'm not even sure it's the mechanics that are making people not like this game so much as it is this perpetual and endless nit picking and whining and complaining.

It's contagious.

Where is this amazing game you are talking about ? POE 2 is a like tetris compared to game mechanic and stuff to do compared to POE 1.
And again abusers in this case are being awarded and further the negative attitude is shown . When you don't follow your own game rules and rewarding those who try to ruin other peoples game exp, there is nothing positive to talk about.

There's mistakes on all sides

The customer is always right. This is not a free game, not now anyway.

Some of the things you wrote down I tend to agree with, but they're beside the point and address a more general view of the entire early-access model.

What it boils down to, in this case, is the fact that some people abused a game mechanic (you can call it what you want, a feature, something normal .. whatever), GGG hotfixed that, then nerfed it.
However, they did not take any measures against those who promoted this "feature", and who, by the way, have kept their giga-temples made via the Holten "feature".

Most players are probably pissed that they didn't get to make the temple and exploit it themselves as well.
But there are also players, myself included, who want to see consequences for abusing game mechanics AND promoting said abuses, for others to copy. GGG did exactly the opposite: it rewarded those who abused by letting them to keep their temples, not to mention the fact that they didn't even ban them, as they did in the case of the ritual "feature".

You do understand that there is more than one sentiment among the customer base?
We can be more honest with our posts, and this level of dialogue actually diminishes your demands.

Where is the amazing game? The bulk of POE 2 is amazing, it's a technical marvel, it has so many advanced and complex mechanics and from a mechanics perspective with rolls and dashes, and leaps, the game plays amazingly.
It has the POTENTIAL for advanced systems and a progressoin loop of amazing complexity.
It's just some top level design sensibilities holding this back.
The FOUNDATION is sound, and that's the most important part in regards to POE 2, you can't polish a turd, but it's not that, no matter how much various posters will scream at the top of their lungs till they're blue in the face.
Alls they gotta do is sort out crafting a bit, sort out loot drops and trade, add a bit more fun unique drop and get away from these overly complex machines of talents and items that are premade and require rigid adherence to resist maxing that gets so tiring.
But they're kinda trapped in the prison of all this content they've created. They have all those unique items and they have all the systems and a live game they must upkeep, it makes it really hard to make impactful and necessary changes to the fundamental systems of balance.
And that's what's got me worried. The talent system, the items, the skill gems, they all have fundamental issues that need radical change but they're locked into the live game.

Do people not understand how feedback works? When this happens, it is for a reason, and absolutely provides value every time. There is value in knowing you pissed off your customer base, and how badly you pissed them off. These people have been drowning in "constructive" flowery language feedback for like a year, and it took a very long time to act on just some of it.
Yeah man. They just gutted my temple and I never went back to Holden once, just playing Temple as intended. And we get nerfed? They literally arrested the guy that got shot! GGG just beyond clueless.
Deliver pain exquisite

Being grateful for something you pay for is moronic, quite frankly.
