Scion Scorching Ray cw CWC Firestorm

I've played some hours now over the last 6 months or so and have not quite got there.
A few instant deaths here and there on what I considered to be reasonable builds and occasional stuck points. By that I mean reaching a level where you realize there's little more to be done without a major overhaul.
So I'm reaching out. After two stupid freeze deaths with cyclone marauder builds I decided to go for a spell casting scion to put some carefree fun back into the game.
Now I need inspiration.
Hints and tips gladly welcome.
