So i was able to pickup a helm with blastchain mine and hypothermia... does pob auto calc these or do i need to add them to my arc link to see?

Yes it calculates, but it is not obvious. If you do an Import and then check the gem section, it doesn't show. But if you highlight the skill under group, it will show all of the extra stuff like Blastchain/Hypo in your case.

I'm confused with Gem setup. What skills are we using on maps?

Kind of up to you, build is pretty flexible with most miner builds. I did Arc only from Act 1 to white maps and then switched to Glacial Cascades when Meta bosses started becoming a chore to kill without single target set-up. There are quite a few people that use Ice Spear, Pyro, dual gem set-ups, etc.

Do you really think that its right to use essence worm in this build? It also increases the mana cost of mines by 40% which is huge especially when you use MoM

Definitely not worth it for me. Might be okay as a league start when you are rushing maps for exp, but quickly drops off. Yea, you get more damage.. but build is not lacking in that department once you get a few things going. And we need the extra defense for the Metamorph and new bosses.

Hi! I see we take Explosive expert over demolition specialist? Most people on poe.ninja seem to pick the later, but the tooltip on the node makes me wonder why they do it?

Use poe.ninja with caution, it is actually the reverse with what I checked. A lot of people just blindly follow guides or build for specific things. Like Hinder and long sequence bonuses get better at end-game.

A lot of personal preference and depending on what type of mines you play:
Explosives - Bigger AOE with GC, Storm, etc and ele pen is nice with Ice Spears. Pretty easy to hit all 3 mods with Infernal Legion + Skitter. Better for speed clearing if you aren't getting big detonation sequences.
Demolitions - Better for Deep Delve and bosses. Keep stuff away with Hinder and nuke them with long sequences or other bonuses depending on the mines.

Also, some mines have pretty meh auras which makes Demo lose value. I'm stuck with Explosives early game with GC mines. But I do want to do some testing though late game with Blastchain + Demo to nuke Metamorphs/Atlas bosses for the extra 1000% overall MORE damage multiplier over a 20+ sequence. If you're getting a lot of 20 chains, that is an average 50% MORE multiplier.

Should i use watchers eye with light pen from wrath when i dont use wrath ? i mean uve written to use zealotry and its like that in the PoB too so im kinda confused. And also does cold pen support make a huge difference over controlled destruction ? And what amulet should i wear im currently wearing atziri's foible cuz i saw u wear it on ur profile and i struggle to use most of my gems if i dont wear thism

Hidden profile.
If you have Watcher's Eye with Light Pen, worth to switch to Wrath. But I personally skipped using Worm's ring. I only run Skitterbots and level 1 Precision.
Cold Pen vs CD depends on a lot variables. If you have at least 60% effective crit with CD, I'd probably use that over cold pen. If you're low on crit, use cold pen until you can stack some more. Your results may vary, but should have upwards of 400-500% crit multi and having low crit chance significantly reduces crit multi value.

sure about that, but what about auras, other skills etc? double cwdt setup? golem?
Hey can you advice what uniques to use to progress faster through acts ?

I think I did Wrath until switching to Mines + Skitterbots and Precision level 1 when I could afford the 22 mana. Mana was tight and didn't take MoM until mapping. Eventually added Infernal Legion when I could afford the extra mana reserve for the 30 crit multi on burning.

Mines are fine on damage, so I pretty much always use Stone Golem for life regen, especially for lab traps. Even with Minion Life, during maps he is really just there to distract Metamorph for a hit or 2.

I play a lazy style of just GC mines + detonate for all content and Flame Dash for movement. Occasionally pop Vaal RF for boss nuking. Standard CWDT set-up and added the VD/Desecrate one someone posted a few pages back for life leech. May end up adding a Storm Brand curse on hit Culling set-up as part of the boss nuke prep. Lay everything down, boss is hit with curse while I'm hitting all my flasks and Vaal RF before hitting detonate.

You've already got Tabula and that should pretty much carry you to Kitava if you grab random life/res gear on the way. I would probably value mana nodes a bit more to offset mana cost and probably will need a Clarity. Standard caster stuff: Goldrim, dual Axiom, Wanderlust, Hrimsorrow if leveling with GC, Le Heups's or Berek's Grip, etc. Once you reach a certain point that you're too squishy, switch to cheap leveling rares with life/res.
Hi all!
It´s my first timer for a miner so i am lacking in broad Mining-Wisdom, so seeking for help here.

First of all - i really like this build! It is quiet speedy for mapping and in running maps to T16 feels pretty fine.
BUT - it is quiet clunky in terms of "Bossing" for me. The initial 23 Mine-Blasting Sequence (Pyroclast) is OK in DMG - but afterwards i find it really hard to establish more Damage Chains. Till T11 it was fine.

Then, in T16 Metamorph Bosses -> more time struggling keeping Damage up, more times rebuff due to deaths..well...but also more time train my shouting-skills.

I already tried Sirus - well...i did literally no damage.
Conclusion is, i NEED more Damage to Beat the endgame (well, at least for a smooth happy-time).

So i decided to take some deep looks in optimization, played the whole day trough different setups - also compared the top-damage dealers for Arc on PoeNinja. Crafted (with no luck yet, for my miner), bought stuff, sold stuff, stuff stuff.

Then i saw another Char that did nearly double the Damage of me (Acc FetAlik). With lower Gear (Tabula even). WTF? I immediately opened POB and compared. Setted my link-setup back to Chest, even changed my POB-Tree to his ones.

Result was: My Damage was lower. Huh? Why? Did i oversee something?

Is anyone here propably capable to find this bottleneck, that´s limiting my DPS so hard? I have already broken my head, and the brain is slowly slipping onto my keyboard to write these last lines :P

PS: How is GC compared to Arc? I see more and more playing GC.

Thanks for reading / helping :)

Hey question.

on the POB 3.9 he goes into the 3 elemental nodes. but on the leveling guide it is the 3 trap damage? Do you respec into it later on?
There's a lot that I love about this build guide so far, but I wish the OP would go back and clean up each section for consistency, as I almost feel like this is what a guide would look like if intentionally set up to prey on N00bs and the information overload that comes with the number of options around mines right now. I say this- if you're intentionally trolling with this, you're doing an amazing job ;)

I also realize this a lot to put together, and I appreciate the work already put in despite any frustrations I've had trying to cross reference between 3 other build guides and POBs to get a general sense of how things fit together.

Serious question- I'm seeing a lot of streamers and experienced miners using Charged mines. I also see in your POB that you've specifically set the CFG to use Power Charges, but I don't see anywhere they could be sourced. As a crit build, this seems like a smart link... Personally I'm already using swift assembly in lieu of Minefield, as I kind of hate that det delay (at least at level 60 with only 2 labs so far) Going to try ditching them entirely for Charged mines to see how that plays.

Seems like so much of this league is about pre-loading a boss before the fight with a boatload of pyroclast mines and hoping it burns them down in the first try. With metamorphs from there, it's GLHF trying to actually hit them if they have any speed buffs.

PoB is an art and takes a lot to learn with all of the configurations and what not. Here is some general feedback that may help:

-Annoint Destructive Apparatus on a better amulet and save 10 points. Re-route some more and skip the 2 3-point jewels and you should be able to gain more life and similar damage while adding Phase Acro defenses.

https://pastebin.com/p4yNGfAZ
Go to tree section, switch between the 2 trees with Recommended and "Your Build". Didn't go through the work of the rest of the gear, and I assumed full shock just for the purposes of ascendancy shocked.

-I've never used Pyroclast, but that set-up looks wonky. Are you using Added Lightning and Call to make used of the triple ailment? Easier just to use Skitter + Infernal for all 3 elements and switch Added Light to Conc for more damage. I'd probably throw in Minefield instead of Fire Pen too for smoother prep, but not sure if that is a typical set-up. We have 20% pen already with Ascend plus passive (more with boot enchant).
-Upgrade CotB if you switch the above for life, mana, damage, and res.
-Upgrade Essence Worm for life, mana, damage, and res. Without Worm, less mana reserved from auras = more effective HP.
-Upgrade belt to fossil-crafted Stygian or one of the new mods that give damage.
-Uber Lab for 1-160 or ele pen on boots.
-Upgrade amulet pre-annoint, really only applies crit multi and life since you're already over 80% crit.

I played GC mines last league and it was great. I was planning to try Arc Mines only, but I underestimated Metamorph boss tankiness so switched back to GC mines for a 2nd league. I was nuking red maps last league and predict the same once I start investing some chaos. My gear is mediocre and I've done a few red maps already I bought from Zana.

Minefield is like Multistrike, but in terms of consistency, it is so much better than Swift RNG. Without getting quality for throwing speed yet, it is 0.48 vs 0.19 for me. I've looked into the math a little bit and Minefield is overall more mines per second than Swift.

Charged Mines would depend on the skill and Aura bonuses to make use of the detonation sequence. If you're using one of the dedicated mine skills and not a blastchain/high-impact, you can probably get away Charged Mines. But if you have to use spell, blastchain, minefield, and charged mines.. that only leaves 2 supports for any damage (3 with Tremor). Personal preference, but I'd take the big hits over fast small hits.

And yea, the quickness of Metamorphs and occasional no target Arc mines is why I switched back to GC mines. Pretty much same build, just need 2 cheap unique jewels and GC takes up a huge chunk of the screen and hits stuff as I run through the explosion. Plus the occasional freeze is a nice defense.

Wow, awesome answer - thank you, never thought about such quality Feedback!! :)

This tree adjustment looks good! I will give it a shot.

Yeah, i play for a long time POE now and working with PoB quiet often, but this difference to this other player made me mad. Normally i can figure stuff out myself - even tried 3 tree respecs for now, with different versions for Pyroclast added. But for a first time Miner going for Arc and find out that several Guides are somewhat "fragmented" (no offense), dealing with it cost a lot of time and nerves :)

Some Feedback on your Feedback:

- Amulet: Yeah, i had plans with this amulet - that are broken now :P I really lost the fact that about 78% Crit you´re basically capped - makes things easier now, thanks for pointing out!

- Added Lightning to Pyroclast: Nooo - i dont use this config - already using ConcEff, i think you grabbed my PoB while i was switching some Gems after a Test of getting rid of COTB. Must´ve been a really small timewindow when it was in this slot.

- Essence Worm: Actually im enjoying it was Wrath - it´s quiet a good DMG-Boost here. But im onto crafting a Crusader Ring meanwhile with the new Wrath or Zeal Mod. So, thanks for the tip, guess the new Rings can give us a "best of both worlds" :)

- COTB: I´m using it actually for shattering, without it - it is not regular. Thinking about it.

- Stygian also on the Crafting Bench!
But i´m horribly broke now - this all has to grow slowly, even i want it fast :P

Do you think GC is superior in DMG for bossing in comparison to the Arc Builds? With updated Gear, Tree etc., Arc could be ok i think, but maybe there are better Miner - Options to switch to before i continue burn currency trough this one for more. oo

GL! :)

No problem! Keeps me occupied at work :).. Haha, good to know it was just a poorly timed import.

Keep in mind while using the Essence about Worm's impact on mine reservation plus Skitterbots (more with Infernal if you want mapping burn bonus). Try having all your stuff up, Skitter with Infernal, and full mines reserved and see how much mana you have left for MoM.

CotB makes sense if you were Arc only, but since your single target is Pyroclast, it isn't do much except mana regen and resists. Maybe if you used a single target spell that was Lightning-based, but nothing comes to mind right now except maybe Ball Lightning with a different gem set-up? Then you maintain converted cold benefits and shattering for both clear and bossing.

Arc is not a single target skill. I don't want to link to outside videos in this guide, but you can find several clear videos with GC mines and the single target damage is quite large over Arc. Arc/single target skill of choice is most likely the optimized strategy, especially in this boss-focused league, but GC is good for middle of both roads lazy people like me.

Feel free to message me if you want to see some GC clearing in this league with currently subpar gear to help you decide. I'll be leaving for 3 weeks after this weekend though.
