Before 3.13 (I think), we hadd "20% phys as extra chaos against poisoned enemies" on the Ascendancy. So with just one poison, we got this chunk of dmg. Now it's gone, so these nodes have become more and more useless.
In the current version, I have removed the poison mechanics entirely.

We can still get chaos dmg from Unholy Might buff (30%) and from the Atziri flask. You can also have phys as extra chaos mods on the daggers.

It's true that Wither is not that useful for dmg, but it's used to refresh the Elusive buff, which grants insane amount of DPS.

By the way, PoB has been corrected : now, the dagger Mastery "+40% crit multi from Elusive" scales with the effect of Elusive, so it's more like +100% crit multi.

Glad to hear you're doing good in Scourge. I may give the league a try, when they've done some rebalance changes.

/!\ Note that :
* It's a very expensive setup in Standard.
* Cluster jewels are not necessary before red maps.
* Neither is the Brutal restraint jewel.
* Magebane is also for endgame, when you have enough DEX to make it worthwhile (like 500+).
* Secrets of Suffering is very endgame optimization.

You don't need all of this to get a very decent build and enjoy the game.
Since I have fine stuff, I try to run difficult content (here it's a T16 juiced with Elder and Shaper mobs + Delirium mirror).

This video has been a bit long to come, because I was busy with my Energy Blade Hierophant, who has now become a true Jedi, as you can see in this video.

I'm here once again to compliment your work done with this guide and to ask you for some more guidance. I've been slowly upgrading my gear based on the information provided and what we discussed previously.

I feel like at the moment the build has a lot of survivability, I have 5k hp (2,5k with Petrified Blood & Auras active) but I felt like we were lacking DPS for an Assassin, so I removed points from Avoidance Mastery tree and put in the cluster jewels instead. Got a corrupted jewel to take care of corrupted blood too. So here's my questions this time around:

1) Since we're using Petrified Blood and reserving our Life, as well as the Bloodthirst Skill Gem, doesn't the Starkonja remove our damage because of the -50% Reduced Damange when on Low Life mod? Isn't this bad for us?

2) What would be your recommendation for my next gear invesment - do I need better daggers, better jewerly, or a Ryslatha's Coil, or a Brutal Restraint or The Interrogation perhaps? I got around 2.8ex to invest at the moment and I really want to increase our DPS numbers as well as clear speed. I could be wrong but kinda feels like I'm always lacking Accuracy Rating and I have to keep using Ice Golem to make up for it. Should I be stacking more attributes in items perhaps, more phys dmg or crit multi?

I've opened your char in PoB.

1) It seems you have 100% hit chance. Without the Starkonja and the Ice Golem, you still have 98%.

2) It's true that the Starkonja has "50% reduced dmg when on low life". But it's not "50% less", so it does not halve your DPS. The difference between reduced and less is a bit complicated, but from my simulation in PoB, "50% reduced" translates to 10% less dmg overall.

Still you're right. I need to address this issue and you're not the first one to mention it.

There are other unique helmets to consider :
- Abyssus : huge DMG but dangerous
- Rat's Nest : atk speed, crit, but no life
- Crown of the Inward Eye : a balanced solution, which offers both life and dmg.

> In PoB, go to Items and sort the unique items by "Combined DPS", you can find ideas there.

But since you have "+1 BF stage" enchant on hit, keep your Starkonja, because a 7th stage is about 20% more DPS.
Without this enchant, the Starkonja still offers a lot of life, evasion and accuracy paired with the Shaper's gloves.

At your stage in the game, any improvement is going to be expensive.

> Add 20% quality for every gems in the 6L.

> Remove Prowess (+30 STR) and your totem medium cluster, allocate Twin Terrors cluster. 17% more dmg.

> You can replace your Ruby Ring with a Shaper's ring with Assassin's Mark on hit, life and elem res.

Those changes can almost double your dmg, but you will need a lot more elem res on boots and jewels. Budget should be >3ex.

Just wanted to say thanks for the guides over the leagues. At the moment, my build this league is closer to your setup from previous leagues (w/o arrogance life res), but you made it possible: https://poe.ninja/daily/builds/char/wrought_exile/WroughtScourge

Previously, I had herald of ice in there (and accuracy nodes) -- which I really liked because of the shatter chains -- but I just swapped to precision to free up the tree points.

Assassins mark doesn't see use anymore since I got the vulnerability gloves, and in general the gems are still all over the place.

Thanks once again for the reply on chaos damage, and keeping the build updated as you do!

If I may request some more help, I'd really like to know how I can further increase my dps a little, I'm currently trying to get chaos to get carcass jack(Loreweave is NOT cheap), and it takes me quite a bit to clear red maps, like a really slow bit. Monsters just live so l o n g and my totems die instantly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Character: Naiirii on Scourge
If you lack the budget, I can advise you to adapt. That's part of the game IMO.

So an average Loreweave is at least 80c.
Then, search for a 6L Carcass Jack that has 5 out of the 6 colors you need. Then you replace one gem. If you have green instead of red, you put Ice Bite instead of Cruelty for instance. This will help generate Frenzy charges.
If it's blue and not red, you put Inc Crit Strikes support
etc.

Then you find a scourged one that has non-troublesome implicits.

For 35c, there is one that has GGRRBB sockets, with +197 DEX requirement and "You take 45% reduced reflected phys dmg".
So your setup could be : BF + Nightblade + Cruelty + Melee Phys + Infused Chan + Inc Crit strikes.

I'm pretty sure you can bench craft a 6th mod on your amulet, and you can anoint it : Ambidexterity = 10% more dmg.

It's funny that you use the Vulconus dagger. I've always wanted to test it but I've never tried.
You should try to build more around it. I'm sure there is a potential here.
For instance, you can equip the Ashrend body armour, a unique no one has used since the dinosaurs went extinct and that costs 10c for a non-corrupted 6L. Then you'd need the Cinderswallow flask, Added Fire Dmg for BF etc.

Or you go the classic route, and replace your daggers with rare ones. With 300 phys and 1.7 APS, they start at 15c.

I'm still leveling, but your build for killing mobs with martial arts afterimages is pretty dang fun! I love how detailed your guide is, and I appreciate the detail you go into explaining which mechanics you use and why.

I do have a question though. I'm currently using claws as your guide mentioned them as an alternative to daggers to favor survivalist, but I realize now that idea was made using the passive trees and other game changes prior to 3.16. Do you think claws are still a viable alternative in 3.16, or does the build really needs those daggers to make it through the endgame?

The claws are perfectly viable in 3.16.
You have 4 clusters and you can choose these Masteries :
> 1% of atk dmg leeched as life and mana
> 40% inc Effect of Elusive
> 20% chance to blind on Crit
> 6% to gain a frenzy charge on kill

Here are some leads to make easy money in Scourge :

- Run very low tier Scourged maps. Chisel and alch the map, then scourge it.
Rare scourge monsters will drop valuable currencies.
In a t1 Haunted Mansion, I've made 50 simulacrum splinters = 20c.

Rare Scourge monsters can also drop currencies for Expedition, fossils, catalysts etc.
Honestly, I'm not good at making money, but with a scourged map, you can make 10-15c a map easily.
The only trouble is to sell your bulk of currencies for chaos afterwards.

- Haggle for currency items with Tujen.
- With Dannig, exchange Artifacts for Expedition currencies (Astragali, Scrap metals etc.) and sell them in bulk
- With Dannig also, gather the Artifacts you need to haggle with Tujen.

- Run some low level Heists with Karst and open the currency chests.

It won't make you mirror rich, but it's good reward for low effort.
You will easily gather 1ex worth of chaos and be able to buy some nice stuff.

Then, in the trade, look for scourged items with the right colors and downside implicits that are not downside for us.
E.g. : a dagger with "Deal no Fire dmg", a 6L body armour with "+DEX requirement" etc.
