I'm currently back in standard playing with a new test toon, currently lvl 44 and just linked CwC to both Ice Spear and Winter Orb at lvl 40 just before running first lab and it was a huge upgrade from just Winter Orb and/or Ice Spear.

I can see why some have lamented the slow start but really its not too bad. I did Freezing Pulse> Ice Spear> Winter Orb.

Suggestions for order of ascendancy?

It always feels kind of slow when leveling with a scion due to the lack of dmg nodes around the starting area. I would grab the slayer ascendancy 1st(It will help a bit with the strength and dex requirements too while leveling) and use a Mark of Submissions socketed with a warlord mark while pathing upwards towards the witch/templar area where all the dps nodes are.

Would this work as a starter for next league? Would love to read your thoughts about it.

There is good progression for this build so it is definitely a viable starter if GGG doesn't butcher winter orbs/ice spears or the cast when channeling support in the upcoming league

It will always be a bit uncomfortable leveling a scion especially for a 1st character(no dmg nodes around the scion start and no ascendancy bonuses until cruel lab) but it should feel quite good to level and map with once you are done with cruel lab.

I might write up a leveling section with recommended gear once the patch notes are out

Hi, just started your build (lvl25 by now) and selected all nodes around the scion hub. Is there a trick to move on to another hub ? I cannot activate any of starter nodes of whatever hub (except Scion), because of "Requirements not met".

This is a unique characteristic of the ascendant. If you travel to the end of the ascendancy path of your choice you will have the option to spend an ascendancy point to start at path of the other characters.

tldr : You need to invest 5 ascendancy points to do this and hence it is something that you will only get to do much later in the game.

Fastest way? probably Poet's Pens with Arc/LW but that's cheesy, you can use Arc/Ice Spear selfcast until 28, then use W. Orb and at 38 add CwC.

Could you do a quick league starter guide after the patch notes? Like getting the scion with her lacking damage nodes from start to lvl 30 without crying?
