I think the ascendancy part could use a little clarification.

We play Trickster. I personally rushed Patient Reaper into Prolonged Pain for my labs while I was leveling, as it was league start and I wanted some extra damage. My friends leveled with Ghost Shroud/Escape Artist for extra speed since damage wasn't an issue with some leveling gear.

So I guess ghost shroud is a requisite and then the rest just pick?

This confuses me as well, i know what to use for the toxic rain gems but all the rest seems like a big blur with a big difference between the guide and what is picked in POB

15% inc skill duration

Student of decay:
25% inc dmg over time
13% chaos res

edit: seems for 3 points i can get 1 small and both the notables

FIrst time doing Toxic Rain. Why do we want Increased Skill Duration? Does this include the pod duration gettings us more dmg out of them? Figure they'd just popped once and it was over.

Nope, this build doesn't get most damage from the "pop" of the pod, but from the pod sitting on the ground and pulsing aoe around it, that's why increased area and increased duration both increase the effectiveness of that pod.

Toxic rain is 3 stages:
1. arrows landing
2. pod sitting on the ground
3. pod exploding

Most damage comes from #2 when you scale chaos dot.

damage is nice , but i keep getting one shooted with 5k ehp , uber lab izaro killed me for third time with one shoot
I've tried to pause/play to youtube video for the budget build. I'm just trying to figure out what gems you were using in that video since the ones in the thread are for 6L.
what would a great bow for this build look like? vicious projectiles not possible to roll on elder bow?
