Would you mind updating this build for 3.8? I'm curious to see how the mana changes will affect spellcaster gameplay.

No more leech from Watcher's Eye mod, apparently we will have to cap mana regen from nodes to sustain our survivability or use a mana flask :/ But! We do have somes nodes that increase the effect of Arcane Surge on us and also provide mana regen. A new node also combos with the Ascendancy buffs to provide increased spell damage per 100 mana, up to 40%.

Overall, I'd say that we need to reroute the skill tree to be mana efficient now, or use a mana flask and deal with the DPS loss which is unnaceptable! xD
Switching Omeyocan to rare boots is also an option, and fixes almost all of our new mana problems.

As a note, that watchers eye no longer exists so for this build to work with positive mana gain you need to go hard on the mana regen.

Is there any particular Annointment you would recommend? Atm I'm considering Battle Rouse Thoughts, or True Strike.

Seems like this build is getting some big upgrades in 3.10. I didn't even realize that Second Wind is going to be so good for us but it is.

Why do you have Pain Attunement allocated? (In your "final build" link).

Did you consider Archmage Support in the 6L? With 5k mana, it should give 388-515 added lightning, which is more than Added Lightning.

How hard did you look at a bigger mana theme?

Like an additional mana theme could be:

Ivory Tower + low life package (Pain Attunment, disc + zealotry + blood magic).
Healthy Mind next to Cruel Prep
Prodigal Perfect + Mystic Bulwark

With a mana theme I wanted to take Sanctuary of Thought but I think it might have anti-synergy with Archmage Support and Arcane Cloak, as it has that 50% less mana cost. I don't know if that affects the values that Archmage and Arcane Cloak use, but the way it's worded it probably does.

Archmage does work with EB tho
