I've changed ascendancy to Ascendant coz I wanted flask uptime.
Now I have more than 75 % phys reduction 44 block chance 18 spell block chance and my damage is also better.If I remove movement flask and use crit flask with crafted additional crit, effective crit chance goes to 92 %.
So for me defensively and offensively this is better.

Last league I would have agreed, but this league with the changes to slower proj and BL losing the native aoe from sab is too big a hit imo.

From best to worst:
+1 all spells
+1 lightning spells / t1 added light to spells
Spell damage
Spell crit/ lightning damage
Penetration
Trigger socketed spell
Crit multi
Ele as extra chaos

Since I am far from good at game and pob or so , this aoe u r talking about is all about clear or dmg overall? coz i cant see any difference in my clear speed.
Will see how it will go , maybe I will swtitch back to sab

But according to POB i have more damage at lower lvl with Ascendant
PoB does not calculate BL DPS, it only calculates the average hit.
It can hit a maximum of 14 times per ball per target, in order to achieve that, we need a level 20 slower proj AND 100% increased AoE. Sab gets that for free. In order to get that on scion it takes a huge investment. Not having the AoE is cutting your dps down by 40% or so.
You wont notice this in lower level maps or starting out because the first few ticks still do the same amount of damage and clear things instantly anyway. When you start needing multiple ticks on tanky rares or map bosses it will start to feel really bad.

another question about rings. How do you guarantee spell dmg or max ES on rings when you slam it with a crusader orb? arn't their other things it could hit also?

So the 30% increased area effect from Explosives Expert is the one I miss from sabo? I see now, thank you very much :)

There are 3 prefixes, but those are the two highest weight ones.

Yeah, you miss out on a huge portion of the available AoE. There are ways to pick it all up off the tree, but it wouldnt be worth it.
If you want a defensive version, better to just try and cap block and use two curses.
