I think I was able to solve the issue on my witch by removing Eldritch Empowerment. Because of the 3% energy shield cost, you are unable to cast chaos spells with zero energy shield, making the Convalescence spirit gem pretty much essential. Unfortunately, due to the 30-second cooldown on Convalescence, you will still struggle in boss fights because energy shield can drain very quickly if you don't dodge most hits. Personally, I don't think Eldritch Empowerment is worth it, even with Convalescence, because I'm not good enough to dodge enough attacks to save enough spirit, even though it's only a 3% cost.

I found the problem of not being able to attack. I play Huntress and when I use the barrage skill, this happens frequently. After removing it, it was fixed. But I can't use that skill.

" I've been experiencing the same thing, when im at 0 ES I cant attack anything, once ES starts regen'ing I can. Reported it under Bug Report ID: #3802507157 incase this helps anyone else. |

" I can confirm that Eldritch Empowerment is the culprit for this on my witch. The moment i have 0% Energy Shield i cannot attack, dodge or anything and get 1 shot by everything basically. |

Got it today on my Huntress, have had it happen once before but cant remember.
Last seconds before it happened, opening 1 strongbox, rolling and fightning, opening a second strongbox while the first strongbox still spawned mobs. Might have rolled at the same time I clicked the strongbox. Unable to do anything execept using healing potions, walking around and dying. I tried equip/unequip my weapon without luck.. esc-menu, tabbing in and out but no dice. I think I have swapped weapons in the past manually (not by using skill) and it helped, sadly I would have died instantly anyway so I tried other methods first before my time was up. |

Same situation here after Dawn of the Hunt loot patch a few days ago. Can't use ANY skills spells attacks after being hit for about 5 seconds. Game is unplayable. Glad I spent MY MONEY to beta test this slop fest so far...

Having the same issue with my Witch! Idk what happened, but then all of a sudden, this is going on all the time. cant attack bosses or mobs. This started before the most recent patch

Can't cast any spell. Have no Eldritch Empowerment or any special items. Everything was fine this morning, but now I can't cast anything for no reason.

This happens to me a lot.
It happens only after I open my inventory, choose my exalt to apply on strongbox, leave inventory and then... click click no skill... |

same. just posted a bug report. very annoying. Usually, happens after I make a critical hit and clear a screen or stun a boss. Have to run around and dodge roll not to die while spamming an attack key until it comes back. The condition can end in a couple seconds but can last as long as twenty.
