Both Trials are unfun and should be replaced
Lab is definitely better and it has Izaro's voiceline

Lab was definitely much more fun but I think that with the poelab site after you've done it a few times you'd rarely ever die in there.
The normal trials are tough but relatively fair and don't take that long (and you can keep trying them without finding new coins. Its also not too hard to outlevel them and trivialize them if you are really struggling. The trials in cruel are another story entirely. I'd be fine with them as-is provided they were toned down a good bit for the ascendancies. They can add a "hard mode" for the elite players that rewards extra gold keys or something. |

Lab sucked also but using Sanctum has to be a social experiment at this point

Yeah, and sanctum wreaks havoc to tanky melee builds.
How unfair is that? It's also incredibly random. Give the ascendancies with the campaign. Two points at the end of act 2,3,4, and 6. At least until they have a fair trial for all builds. |

"I could be wrong but I think Izaro was voiced by Michael Hurst who played on Hercules: The Legendary Journeys as the more likable on screen talent and has done a lot of work as a director since then. Dude is a great actor and director who definitely puts in the work. IGN : Reamus

I did for the first time the sanctum (which I do not like and I don't know why it's in the game) and didn't know the fight at the end. Then he tapped me and done ... just wasted 1 hour of time for nothing. This is really annoying and unpleasant ... not that trial in POE 1 is fun but I realize now that trials in POE 1 is THE BEST. This "design" is really meant for pro player which does not give a change to 99% of us. This should be redesigned, back to POE 1 now, why bother |

It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't feel so cheap.
Both Sekhmas and the Temple of Chaos "challenge" players by subjecting their characters to effects that no one will ever call "fair". Many of these effects do not challenge player skill at all. Most of these are meant to trip up or kill characters when they are caught in dodge or other movement mechanics. This is great for bullet hell games but terrible design for an ARPG when they lead to immediate character death. If it were just chip or chunk damage and allows for characters to escape then it would fun actually. But noooooo.... I was a bit annoyed finding out that GGG, in all it's divine wisdom, tweaked ToC to be even HARDER than it was in 0.1.0. That seems spiteful to me. I mean so many players have complained about how cheap all the "challenge" mechanics were and yet GGG went and did that. I imagine they read the negative feedback and baked in the finger in 0.2.0. Again, I am not against real challenge. What I am against is cheap shots that are deliberately designed to hit characters that are already made vulnerable by multiple mechanics going on at once. GGG is probably ignorant about how many things a human can actually see and process at the same time else it'd tone things down or present them better. It'd be worse and downright sadistic if they know about it and still make double down on their idea of a "challenge". When the game doesn't make it reasonable for people to craft good defense without doing online trading, then there is something wrong with its design, IMO. I've ground hundreds of hours now in Dawn of the Hunt and so much of it was empty and unrewarding. Die-hards defend it since they're all addicted to currencies, but it's just a grind of mostly meaningless items off the ground, selling, disenchanting, salvaging etc etc etc. The rest of the game is locked behind the acquisition of currencies to get better gear which ruins the whole buildup from the campaign, honestly. |

" There are a few aspects like this in the game. It seems to be either: A. GGG dislikes it's players or holds some contempt for them. Or B. They are busy trying to find ways to kill us rather than trying to find things we would find fun and enjoyable. |
