POE2 - Audio Bug When Equipping/Unequipping Skill/Support Gems

Hi team,

I would like to report a consistent audio bug I'm receiving when equipping and unequipping gems in the gem menu. Audio is a continous loud distorted sound that even affects my fps and doesn't seem to go away un,ess I exit out to character select or login menu. Quitting the game and restarting my pc doesnt seem to do anything. Right now I'm verifying the game steam files. Will let you guys know if that works.

Any assistance on this will be very appreciated. Thank you.

PS: Great game btw. Still enjoying it despite the bugs and the crashes XD

Verifying steam files did nothing as well. Also it seems to affect only my Witch character. My other characters are fine. Would really really appreciate any assistance asap as its really interfering with my current gameplay.

Update 2:

Uninstalled and reinstalled the game. No changes same issue. But after unequipping some clothing items. Audio bug seems to have stopped but now upon equipping other clothing items on my character, character is visual glitchy and fps is still affected. Might be an issue with rune-slotted armour and items.

Would really appreciate any assistance as I cant progress with my main Witch character and she is the most advanced.

So far no issue with my other Merc character.

Update 3:

Just another update. When my witch picks up gems from the world map the sound distortion also occurs. Suspecting it might be a bug in the gem audio itself maybe. Sound distortion as previously stated also affects fps and game starts to heavily stutter.

I had the same issue. Found out it was caused by having the VITALITY support gem placed into demon form. The joke is, this was still possible TODAY and even a recommended support skill for demon form. However, apparently this gem doesn't support demon form any longer. In fact, it prevented me from using my demon form at all for as long as it was still inserted there.

The VITALITY tooltip now states: "Supports Persistent Buff Skills, causing you to ...", so you can put it into a Cast On skill instead.

Oh really damn. Thanks for the feedback. I srsly thought my character was bugged itself. Will immediately unequip that gem and see if that will stop the issue. A hundred thanks. Really appreciate this :)

Can confirm that it was the viitality gem equipped onto my witches demon form. After taking it out. No audio issues and fps drops so far :)

Same bug happened to me with the exact same steps to reproduce, removing Vitality fixes it.

Thanks for this post. I had the same symptoms except the support gem that I had in Demon Form was Cannibalism. Removing that gem fixed it for me too.

FIGURED IT OUT!!! its a gem bug that occurs whenever your attributes arent high enough yet for a current gem you have equiped so simply fix the attributes ( seems to work over deleting gem)
