There is already a successful Souls-like ARPG -- GGG please learn from it!

Yeahh, to do that they would have to abandon "The Vision" and that is very unlikely to happen.
But who made you think that I'm here looking for a soulslike?

Nobody thought you were. The devs can read without your permission.
I would not have used Nioh 2 as my example.

I would have used PoE 1. Where item rarity on gear DOESN'T effect league currency.

Also defences in PoE 1 are equally viable because there is actual life on tree. Also non-ailment dot actually is buffed by tree in PoE 1 (have fun trying to make ED contagion work well in PoE2).

Also movespeed is actually good in PoE 1, as boots with movespeed are WAY easier to get and they also get 40% from flask(so 70% extra against our 30% extra). Meaning that normal PoE 2 movespeed is only 76% of PoE 1 normal movespeed(when johnathan said "but the base movespeed is the same" in an interview, he missed this basic fact).

Conflicting design philosophy is a major PoE2 hurdle right now. They need to be able to shed old, archaic ARPG design philosophies if they want the slow, methodical, tactical approach to combat to work. There's so many of them left over, even all the way back to Diablo 2, that just don't fit the vision they seem to be going for.

Actually D2 was very good in slow tactical approach. POE2 is far far far behind.
This is why Chris left GGG to build a proper D2 inspired brand new ARPG.

Why? where did you hear that that is the goal of this game? to be a souls like? because fuck everything about that. unless they remove 90% of the monster density and totally rework everything and the loot to make all of that make sense you will never have combat and no one wants that. This is a sequel to poe 1 not a totally new IP all together. Stop…
I thought you were going to talk about No Rest For The Wicked. :(

Nioh 1 and 2 are good examples, though.

That argument keeps coming from players who seem completely against the idea of meaningful combat — as if slower or more deliberate automatically means “boring.” Nobody ever said the goal was to make it Souls-like; that label just kept getting thrown around as an exaggeration.
Many of us who didn’t enjoy PoE1’s direction — after it was watered down to cater to compulsive loot grinders — saw something different in the PoE2 previews. The official Steam store page, right now, literally shows videos and descriptions presenting a totally different experience from what you’re describing or defending.

And for the record, Nioh 2 was just a reference point — proof that both fast, high-intensity combat and slower, more deliberate combat can work extremely well when paired with a deep build system and satisfying loot. The idea you're defending doesn't hold up - it's the same tired formula dressed up in nostalgia, and it's the reason games like this keep chasing numbers instead of meaning.

screen blasting is stupid gameplay.

mountains of useless loot is stupid gameplay.

having only a few effective skills is stupid gameplay.
